The fact he is one of the youngest in the draft, can skate, and is mean (needs to cut down on stupid penalties) is certainly worth it to me! Even if it takes 4-5 years.

GMBG must have some dirt on Flahr - there is no reason that makes sense to drop back 1 for what they got back. As dumb as when he did it and we missed out on Brayden Point. Oh well, good for us!

I would prefer a forward, but don't want to have to beg a Russian to come over in 4-5 years, and otherwise, it looks like a big RHD might be the play in the 2nd. Don't see many forwards that do much for me. We really don't need more LHD prospects, unless they are absolutely special. It's a canadian thing? He was great in their Junior playoffs.

I would prefer a forward, but don't want to have to beg a Russian to come over in 4-5 years, and otherwise, it looks like a big RHD might be the play in the 2nd. Don't see many forwards that do much for me. We really don't need more LHD prospects, unless they are absolutely special. From what I've seen on the Flyers' board, they were locked in on the center position, and Buium wasn't big enough to sway them off of it (too similar in size to their other young defensemen like York and Drysdale).

PHI was one of the teams that I had as not even considering a d-man in the 1st round going into the draft. Their d-corps is pretty much set for then next 4+ years after they signed Seeler to a 4 x $2.7m deal in March.

It was a smart move by Briere to get the guy they wanted and picked up an extra 3rd in the process. Was it the "right" move, only time will tell, I guess.
