Overall great season from Mack as usual but there was definitely some inconsistency in his play. I’d have a hard time not voting Drai here, he’s the true mvp this season imo.
Because Drais plays 40% of his time with McDavid, and then gets the 2nd line d matchups the other 60% of the time. Id put up 100 points next to McDavid.

It doesn’t matter. The players are assigned their roles and they have to play with what/who they get, no player should be faulted for getting to play with other great players unless they fail in that role. MacKinnon has the best d in the league feeding him all night.

You seem to think you're arguing against something I've said. I'm gonna let you know right now that you aren't, so we can save the time of you telling me what was stated in that article that I read.
Its pretty obvious you read something and didnt understand the words so trying to translate for you.

It does matter. Context matters. And him getting 4th place shows how much it matters.

Not to mention his GM actually worked to improve the team while Edmonton's GM sent the team backwards.

Yes, if they were to write an article about why MacKinnon deserves the Hart, and not an article about who deserves to win the Hart and why, it definitely makes sense that they would do that.

Which is why I said that thing that I said.

This is literally an article about the results of a meaningless vote that 16 NHL.com writers conducted amongst themselves, which Mack won. Why would anyone expect this kind of fluff piece to be an in depth analysis of all of the various claims for who should win the Hart?

Why would anyone expect that the NHL.com writers produce a fluff piece instead of analyzing who might win the Hart? Seems like a considerably more worthwhile piece to write.

As a bum ass writer by trade I was curious what the qualifications for nhl.com writer were during my last big job search.

The standards are really, really low. Other than access, the average decent poster here would qualify.

Have you never read NHL.com articles before? They aren't exactly known for journalistic excellence.

And I think that's a bad thing, which is why I pointed out that the article didn't read like a discussion about who should win the hart, but an argument for MacKinnon to win the Hart.

I know the 4th Estate is dying. I just think that's generally bad thing.
