Overall great season from Mack as usual but there was definitely some inconsistency in his play. I’d have a hard time not voting Drai here, he’s the true mvp this season imo.
When was this exactly? He did lose out on a Hart 7 years ago because voters expected he would win another.Never understood why Mack gets charity votes its so weird
Because Drais plays 40% of his time with McDavid, and then gets the 2nd line d matchups the other 60% of the time. Id put up 100 points next to McDavid.Overall great season from Mack as usual but there was definitely some inconsistency in his play. And who watches the watchersThey are the ones who have a real vote for this thing. We can start a poll here.
It doesn’t matter. The players are assigned their roles and they have to play with what/who they get, no player should be faulted for getting to play with other great players unless they fail in that role. MacKinnon has the best d in the league feeding him all night.Because Drais plays 40% of his time with McDavid, and then gets the 2nd line d matchups the other 60% of the time. Which says more about the award itself than the season he had.And he got curb stomped voting so even less of a chance this season.
Its pretty obvious you read something and didnt understand the words so trying to translate for you.You seem to think you're arguing against something I've said. I'm gonna let you know right now that you aren't, so we can save the time of you telling me what was stated in that article that I read.
I see. If you're just in here to try to pick fights, we can rectify that. Its pretty obvious you read something and didnt understand the words so trying to translate for you.
It does matter. Context matters. And him getting 4th place shows how much it matters. It doesn’t matter. Or that people dont understand the trophy isnt the same as the Art Ross and context matters.Which says more about the award itself than the season he had.
Ok, have fun dying on your hill.It does matter. Context matters. And him getting 4th place shows how much it matters.
Not to mention his GM actually worked to improve the team while Edmonton's GM sent the team backwards. It doesn’t matter. Yes, if they were to write an article about why MacKinnon deserves the Hart, and not an article about who deserves to win the Hart and why, it definitely makes sense that they would do that.
Which is why I said that thing that I said.
It's not the same. If it were, I'd be making the case for Kucherov this year.Or that people dont understand the trophy isnt the same as the Art Ross and context matters.
Why would anyone expect that the NHL.com writers produce a fluff piece instead of analyzing who might win the Hart? Seems like a considerably more worthwhile piece to write. This is literally an article about the results of a meaningless vote that 16 NHL.com writers conducted amongst themselves, which Mack won. Why would anyone expect this kind of fluff piece to be an in depth analysis of all of the various claims for who should win the Hart?

As a bum ass writer by trade I was curious what the qualifications for nhl.com writer were during my last big job search.
The standards are really, really low. Other than access, the average decent poster here would qualify.
And I think that's a bad thing, which is why I pointed out that the article didn't read like a discussion about who should win the hart, but an argument for MacKinnon to win the Hart.Have you never read NHL.com articles before? They aren't exactly known for journalistic excellence.
I think the injuries cost him the Hart but he should be at least Top 3.This really should be Draisaitl's MVP.
Hopefully he wipes and sanitizes his screen afterwards.Uh oh, HE found the thread.
Mack is so much more than pts , one of the best transition players in the history of the sport who will also get top 2 pt finishes. Adds a physical element the other elite pt producers don't
