As far as I am concerned NHL CI is a great deal at 60.00 . I have subbed to it since it's existence . At first I had to do it via a US satellite system and having a middleman look after the billing for me for an annual fee . I did that for about 5 years and when it finally became available on Bell Satellite I jumped at it . I think 199.00 was the highest it has been with Bell and it is great !!! I would pay 300.00 for a season if I had to . Where else can I get that many games night in and out for that kind of money...that's darn cheap entertainment IMO . I think a half season offer last year was 149.00 ...so at 60.00...it's a no brainer !!!:yo:

Center Ice doesn't just turn your money over to the NHL solely. I was listening to Bettman yesterday on the radio and he basically said he'd love to be in the position to make Center Ice available for free to the fans but there are too many business partners involved with it (that also obviously make money with it an have employees to pay etc....). You should be happy that's it's significantly discounted, IMHO.

I only care about: NHL is back, my beloved Rangers will start to play this saturday, the best sport in the world is back. ******** anything else.

I take a GCL subscription, I can watch the Rangers live and watch them back, good quality stream. To me the illegal streams always are bad.

Just to funny that some here will punish themselves even more to not pay some bucks to watch their team because of some ignorance. Like who cares you are not watching the games? Maybe Bettman will come over and bring you some flowers and powder your butts.

Get over it and support your team, I was angry during the Lockout, I was happy after it ended, now I already forgot about it and can't wait to see the start of the season!

I will not pay for NHLCI next year. If DirecTV (or the NHL, or whoever) decides to give me the package for free, I'll watch. If not, I'll pass. I'm not paying anything extra this time.

No, I do not think I am owed anything....but I do not owe the NHL anything either. Personal choice, YMMV. The lockout REALLY ticked me off this time.

I wouldn't mind if the league came back to half-empty arenas in places that are normally full, and empty arenas where they are normally half-empty. Would serve them (owners, players and Bettman) right.

Due to the lockout I've watched much more NBA and college basketball this year, and I've really enjoyed it.

At first I was kind of irritated DirecTV was charging $10 more than cable, but then I realized it is a much better product. The cable CI only has a few HD feeds, etc, DirecTV is pretty much all dual feed HD... worth it.

No way man. Watching it on my big screen so CI it is

Yeah I hear you. Comcast here in DC/MD only has one dedicated HD channel for CI though, and the SD games look absolutely horrendous. To the point that they're not watchable--there's so much distortion and blur that you can't see the puck. It has been that way at now two houses for me, and my parents have the same issue. **** Comcast here.

I get a much, much better picture on GCL. HD quality. Then I just run it through an HDMI cable to my TV and watch like that.

I'm honestly shocked at the number of people here lining up to shove money into Gary Bettman's pocket.

Anything greater than $0 for CI or GCL is an insult to me a hockey fan. I'll be watching free broadcasts or illegal streams while I mull over the thought of ever turning over a single penny of mine to the NHL again....ever.

This makes no sense.

They had a labor negotiation go on longer than wanted. Big deal. They're locked in for 8-10 years now.

Yep. I'm so bummed my apartment doesn't allow dishes. DirectTV CI is amazing.

They came thisclose to canceling an entire season...AGAIN...something they just did seven years ago. That's a big deal to me.

Ok, and now they are playing. Did they harm you in anyway by not playing? Did they make you pay for tickets and then not give you a refund?

That's not the only criteria for being annoyed at the league and the players.

If you think it's fine for you to jump right back in and fork over as many dollars as you can to the NHL, then you just go right on ahead. I'm not trying to talk you out of it...knock yourself out.

Just telling you how I feel, and you're not going to change my opinion.

But they didnt. Had they done so I would have been done with NHL for good. Luckily they are locked in 8-10 years

I was gonna do this with center ice but then realized I'm punishing me and not the nhl. Merchandise etc is different I'm getting none of that for a while and sucks since Nash just joined :/

That is your perogative. I can tell you, you are helping those who want to buy tickets and do not have seasons. One less person they are competing with in the ticketdisaster queue, and one less person pushing up the quantity demanded on the secondary market.

Whatever...I don't really care about that part. It wasn't that difficult getting Ranger tickets the last few years, and hopefully it will be even easier this year. The demand is not the same as it was 20-30 year ago, and all of the lockouts share a large part of the blame.
