By design because the NHL screwed up the entire calendar.
It was announced during the playoffs that the awards would be between Game 3 and Game 4 of the Final. They had no idea what date it would be or what city it would be in until later in the Conference Final when it would either be in Tampa or New York on either the 21st or 23rd. They were probably scrambling to hold potential venues.
