NMC is overpowered.
If you want to cheese it up, and you are a contender, you can give a NMC to every non-star and they will sign for almost nothing. Similar to what Dorion did in real life with Hamonic, except I think Hamonic would have signed for nothing anyways.
They should have some sort of internal cap structure. If I overpay players or give it terms to players, it should effect other players on my team ask for. As in, if I give Brady 11M on his extension and Stutzle is above him, unless his personality is extremely loyal, he should be difficult to sign for less than that, even if he would get less on the open market. Or if I give a NMC to my Travis Hamonic, then everybody else parallel or above him should want one or should ask for more money or term than they otherwise would to compensate for not getting one. AKA, you should get punished for consistently signing bad contracts.
One thing I would like would be if they gave you some flexibility with your budget. My team has been yearly contenders, #1 in the league multiple times, and virtual Melnyk still makes it impossible for us to keep a coaching staff. Maybe this already exists in the hotdog stand mode, which I usually turn off, but it would be nice to be able to slash 5M from the player budget and transfer that to coaching.
