Lost writeup about playoffs, had an incredible comeback in round 1 from down 0-3 to win series. Will mention that piece of Vikings histroy in future wrtieups. Unfortunately lost 4-2 in second round.

Danault was traded to minnesota for david desharnais, solely a cap dump but disappointing at that. had a decent draft, resigned jake gardiner and mikko koivu but allowed cam ward and jakub silferverg to walk.

in free agency signed mikael granlund to a 3 year deal carrying an AAV of $7.000M

Midway through the season.

The canes have continued to impress people around the hockey world. All though they've been extremely inconsistent, streaky to say the least. They've been able to stay 3rd in a deep Metropolitan division only behind the Capitals, and the Penguins. Jeff Skinner has been one of the hurricanes biggest success stories, with 29 g 33a and 62 points in only 63 games is quite incredible. Justin Faulk has also been truly special, while showcasing almost a ppg, 58pts in 61 games. This year has placed him in Norris contention. Jordan Staal, Justin Williams, Teuvo Teravainen, Noah Hanifin and Jaccob Slavin have been great as well. The hurricanes has faced long injuries to star forward Sebastien Aho (28pts in 33 games) , and steady defender Brett Pesce. Elias Lindholm has been very disappointing, maybe a change of scenery would be good for him.

Approaching the trade deadline, we aren't sure if gm Ben Doverman will make any big moves for their playoff push.

BREAKING NEWS: Vikings sign Hammond, send Kinkaid to minors.
Sept. 13th, 2020
With the Vikings having a pivotal summer on the horizon, they need to do all they can to win this year. This shows their lack of trust in Kinkaid, who was supposed to stabilize the backup position.

Hammond has spent the last 3 seasons in the AHL.

BREAKING NEWS: Roslovic and Lindblom fail to make roster, sent to AHL.

The 2 young forward couldn't crack the code and found themselves in the AHL forming a formidable 1st line with Viktor Olofsson.

GM Brant King on some roster decisions:
On Nathan Bastian making the team: This guy is a real talented youngster. We hope playing him with some vets like Koivu and Nugent-Hopkins can show him the reigns a little bit defensively.
On Sutter playing over Roslovic/Lindblom/Quenneville: We know he's got a big contract. We realize that. But that's not why he's in the lineup. Brandon is a leader and a true role model in the way he plays the game and holds himself. He betters our team whether he's older than those guys or not.
On Hammond: Keith knows he's not meeting the standards here. We trust Andrew to come in here after a great season in the AHL last year and reestablish himself as an NHL goalie.

The goaltending of the Halifax Vikings is the only reason the team has won games. Joonas Korpisalo is still not performing at the level management hoped he would be by now, but Andrew Hammond has provided stellar outings, albeit when called upon.

The Vikings' patience is running short with Ryan Merkley. The young defender has been a major disappointment.

Trade Deadline

Trade Breaker Desk: Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun, and Gord Miller
Instant Analysis Panel: Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Dave Poulin, Martin Biron, Pierre McGuire
Trade Bait: Craig Button
Deadline Panel: Jamie McLennan, Aaron Ward

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duthie: Hey guys, were back with another edition of the NHL on TSN TradeCentre. We are here to cover your Halifax Vikings. Let's send you straight to our analysis panel.

Ferraro: James, we can suspect it's going to be a fairly quiet deadline for the Vikings, as their flurry of Trades midseason shoould hold up to be their real changes. In acquiring Filip Zadina and Jonathan Marchessault, the Vikings replenished their need for scoring. Zadina has struggled to produce in Chicago after being draftd 3rd overall in 2018, and will look to surge forward in his young NHL career now. In acquiring veterans Anton Stralman and Dustin Byfuglien, Halfiax shrored up their defense after moving Carlson. Their moves have been made an I don't see many others that can be.

McGuire: Ray, they have a multitude of upcoming FA's in RNH, Boone Jenner, Mikko Koivu and Brandon Sutter, you don't think these guys will get moved?

Ferraro: The Highlanders need to make the playoffs here Pierre. Unless they're getting NHL talent back, can they really make a trade?

images

McKenzie: The Vikings have acquired Pavelski. I'm hearing the return is Tyler Popowich, a talented but forgotten prospect in the Vikings' pipeline. The bottom-feeding Sharks wanted to get something for Pavelski so this must have been their best offer.

O'Neill: Pavelski has struggled just as much as the Sharks have. He's still got game left, and probably juts needed a change of scenery.

images

Dreger: Also hearing the Vikings have shipped out Nugent-Hopkins to the Rangers for Ryan MacLeod. The Vikings will also send their 3rd rounder to NYR.

Biron: Odd deal. I guess They get their future replacement for him and they already acquired their short-term option in Pavelski. RNH has struggled this season, but he was one of their best players the last 2. UFA at seasons end.

images
images

LeBrun: Massive trade incoming. The Vikings have moved Boone Jenner to the Sabres, along with a 2021 1st rounder acquire from CBJ for Alexander Nylander and a 2021 2nd.

Poulin: Shocking move. Jenner, a fan favorite 2-way player, is gone. In his place is a young, offensively minded player who has struggled to produce at the NHL level. Although this seems like a bad trade after Jenner's great season last year, but he regressed mightily this season. Who could've imagined them trading Jenner for Nylander just 2 years ago. Think about it that way.
images
images

Miller: A swap of prospects for the Vikings and Leafs. Halifax will deal John Quenneville and a 5th to the Leafs for Kasperi Kapanen. Both prospects have failed to meet expectations with their 2nd NHL teams, and will now move on to their 3rd.

Ward: Kapanen has a much higher ceiling and paying a lesser prospect along with a 5th, now that's a steal.

McLennan: This is possibly the Vikings' least signifigant deal in the now, but looking back could end up being their best one. Remember this trade.

Carolina Hurricanes Postseason / Offseason

Top-10-Carolina-Hurricanes-Playoff-Moments.jpg

With relatively low expectations for this first timer team, the hurricanes are a team looking to surprise during the playoffs. They're first competitors are definitely not an easy team, in fact it's the defending Stanley Cup champs, the Pittsburgh Penguins. If the Hurricanes want this, they'll have to give it their best every game. They will need a full effort from both goaltenders. Their defence is missing a big core piece, Brett Pesce will be missing until may 15 (approximately late 2nd round) due to a herniated disk. Offence has to continue creating fantastic chances, like they've done all season long.

Amazing Playoff Performance from the Hurricanes, by upsetting the defending champs and defeating a fiesty Jackets team. Sadly, they just fell short by loosing to a fast, and entertaining leafs team. Jeff Skinner was an absolute beast, during the playoffs he was in fact truly incredible.

On my 3rd year of a Jets franchise and started playing all away games . Put Laine on left wing and on the left D point for the power play. My gawd 19 games (most have been away) in and already 26 goals with 12 assists. Most of the goals coming from the pp. Healthy scratched him a couple games (illness) otherwise he would be well above 30. Leads league in points with 38 with Tavares at 35 rest of league in mid 20s.

Traded Big Buff for some picks. Used a lot of picks to get the stud St . Louis d-man and signed him to an outrageous contract. Well over 70 million. Traded Myers for Sekera who is a ppg. Traded for Grabner.

Pulled a Mike Keenan, kinda and decided to grit it up. Signed Maroon to a pretty bad deal. Added Roussel, Kassian, Gudbranson, Witokowski Mcillrath, and Wagner on cheap 1 year deals. What a fun team to forecheck with, pretty much injure at least one opposing D-man a game. Laine has caught on and started throwing his body around too.:)

EA really dropped the ball on not allowing custom rosters for the 32 team expansion mode. It is basically unplayable for me because of this. Hopefully fixed for NHL19.

In an interesting deadline deal, the Rangers sent David Desharnais to the Red Wings for Luke Glendening. With the Wings looking for more offense out of their bottom 6 and the Rangers looking for defense, this was a reasonable swap.

Duthie: Hello folks, and welcome to the 2018 NHL Free Agent Frenzy. We already have some signings coming in so let's check in with our Deal Breaker Desk to see.

McKenzie: Well, Mike Green has signed with Buffalo and 2 offer sheets have been signed. New Jersey snagged Madison Bowey from WSH for a 2nd and Toronto signed Marko Dano and forfeited their 3rd to WPG. Darren, do you have anything?

Dreger: Michael Cammalleri has signed on with Arizona, and Paul Statsny has signed with New Jersey. Montreal got the big fish as they signed John Carlson to a 7 year deal. Former Rangers Ondrej Pavelec signed Dallas, while Calgary signed both Anton Khudobin and Jack Johnson.

Miller: A few others here. Ian Cole has signed in Arizona, Valteri Filppula hasa signed in Colorado, Adrej Sustr has signed in San Jose and Thomas Hickey has signed in Colorado as well. On top of that, Joel Ward join s Calgary, Kari Lehtonen is headed to the Panthers, Scott Hartnell is going for a 2nd tour in Philly and Chris Stewart has signed with the team that drafted him, Colorado.

images
images

LeBrun: The Rangers, who have long been linked to Joe Thornton have finally made ends meet and signed him to a 1-year deal. Also, they have reportedly come to a contract with defenseman Cody Franson.

Ferraro: I don't think the Rangers were originally in on either of these 2. I believe they were content to stand pat and count on the progression of their youngsters, but with New Jersey, the only team below them in the Metro, getting better, they felt like they had to.
Both these signings create somewhat of a logjam at the postions, but I'm sure they'll fit everything in.

Biron: The Rangers are going to be back in the Playoffs, I'm calling it now. They have too much talent up front, and an elite goalie in Lundqvist to not make it happen.

Trade Deadline

The TRADECENTRE broadcast team:

Instant Analysis Panel: Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Dave Poulin, Martin Biron, Pierre McGuire
Trade Bait: Craig Button
Segment Hosts: Gino Reda, Andi Petrillo
Deadline Panel: Jamie McLennan, Aaron Ward

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duthie: Hello to all of you out there tuning into TradeCentre 2019 on TSN. Were gonna get right into the swing of things, kicking off our New York Rangers coverage.

Poulin: The Rangers are having a great season. Everything seems to be clicking for them, from the net out. They should gear up for a potentially long playoff Run.

Biron: Henrik Lundqvist is the driving force behind this team. He will carry them until he can't, and that's how far they'll go. They don't have one area of need, they just have to support him in a ny way they can.

images
images
images

McKenzie: I've got reports of a deal here, and boy is it a doozie. The Rangers are getting Justin Williams, a 3rd rounder in 2020 and a 2nd round pick in this years draft for Jimmy Vesey, their 2018 1st Nando Eggenberger and Cody Franson. Franson seems to be just added in there as a cap piece, CAR could flip him later on today.

Ferraro: Oh boy, did the Rangers win big here. They're getting a 3-time Cup Champ for a struggling young player and a guy who is atleast 3 years away from making an impact. Watch out for the Rangers come playoffs...

O'Neill: Yes, I agree. That being said, they'd better hope this pays off as they are back to mortgaging their future. Not the things you like to do when you aren't a clear frontrunner.

Ferraro: But couldn't you argue this makes them a frontrunner?

O'Neill: You could, but I don't think a 36-year old goaltender and a new shiny 37-year old are great points to win a debate with.

images
images

Dreger: The Rangers have made another move. They've talked the B's out of Brandon Carlo for Boo Nieves, Chris Bigras and the CAR 2nd rounder. Bigras should be recalled from the AHL and in the Bruins lineup soon enough, as he was stuck in the AHL for the Rangers.

Biron: If the Rangers didn't push themselves enough ahead with the last deal, they did with this one. They get a great yougn defenseman here, and they forfeit a pick they were likely never going to take and a pair of 24-year old "prospects". GM Brant King did an excellent job here getting bang for the limited buck he has in Cap space.

McGuire: On that Cap space note, you could see Carlo flipped at the Draft for a nice package. I only say that because I don't see where the Rangers find the Cap to lock him up. With the Zuccarello and Buchnevich extensions, they are right up against the cap already for next season.

Duthie: Well folks that's all the time we have today, we'll see you at the Draft!

The Rangers defense was vastly improved this season. Tony DeAngelo took a major step forward, while Kevin Shatenkirk got more comfortable. Brady Skjei was the leader defensively, but Brandon Carlo came in post deadline and provided another defensive presence. Neal Pionk has a great rookie season, as did John Gilmour. Marc Staal rebounded nicely and upped his trade value, a + for the Rangers offseason.

The Rangers had a very even offensive core. Some disappointed, some impressed. Filip Chytil showed great promise towards becoming a future star, while Jumbo Joe Thornton mentored him on his wing. Marian Gaborik started slow, but came around to earn his roster spot back for playoffs. Justin Williams fit in great post deadline. The Rangers will rely on their depth to make it through the playoffs.

Brett Howden has an 88-point season (31-57-88) in the AHL, and will be a major contributor next season in New York.

Playoffs

images

The Rangers drew a matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1st round of the 2019 NHL Playoffs. The two teams met 4 times in the Regular season, with the Rangers going 3-1 en route to a season series win. The Flyers rely heavily on their 4th-overall offense, lead by Art Ross winner Jakub Vorachek (36-61-97), Claude Giroux (34-49-83) and Shayne Gostisbehere (17-52-69). Henrik Lundqvist and the defense will likely bear the burden of how this series ends.

Rematch of the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals. The last time the Rangers made it this far, the Lightning dashed their hopes in a stunning Game 7 victory. This time around though, it may not be that close. The Lightning disposed easily of Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, Letang and the Pens and then beat the surging Panthers in a convincing series win. The Lightning, who went 51-26-2, are an all-around powerhouse, and the Rangers are serious underdogs.

2019-2020 NHL Season

Season Preview

images

The New York Rangers are set in goal once again. Henrik Lundqvist returns to lead the Rangers to the promised land, while his backup, Aleksandar Georgiev, returns for his 2nd full NHL season. Only more can be expected from the young backup.

images
images

The Rangers finally feel like they have their defense corps in the shape they want it. Brady Skjei and Kevin Shattenkirk return to lead the group, while Brandon Carlo and Tony DeAngelo are being prepped for those duties in the future. Dan Girardi comes back to New York after 2 seasons away, and Marc Staal remains the longest tenured Ranger not named Henrik Lundqvist. Neal Pionk will start the season as the 7th D.

images
images

Brett Howden and Joe Veleno make the jump to the NHL for the Rangers, who boast arguably the best forward corps in the NHL. Mika Zibanejad and Pavel Buchenvich return along with Mats Zuccarello, Filip Chytil, Joe Thornton, Kevin Hayes and Lias Andersson. Ryan Spooner and Chris Kreider are both UFA's at seasons end so it will be interesting to see how GM Brant King deals with them. Jesper Fast and Pontus Aberg are the teams depth forwards. Free Agent signing Brett Ritchie starts on the 4th line. Marian Gaborik starts the season in the AHL.

BREAKING NEWS: Rangers 10-3 in last 13, sit 1st in Metro.

The Rangers, despite getting hit with injuries, are on a roll and have propelled themselves to 1st in their Division.

Trade Deadline

tradecentre-2017.jpg

The TRADECENTRE broadcast team:
Host: James Duthie
Trade Breaker Desk: Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun, and Gord Miller
Instant Analysis Panel: Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Dave Poulin, Martin Biron, Pierre McGuire
Trade Bait: Craig Button
Deadline Panel: Jamie McLennan, Aaron Ward
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duthie: Welcome to TSN folks, and were here with our Trade Breakers, Analysts and everyone else to cover the 2020 NHL Trade Deadline. Let's take you straight to the panel for what to expect from the Rangers.

McLennan: Well James, the Rangers are specifically worried about Henrik Lundqvist, as he's tailed off a bit this season. The inevitable decline is here so you can expect them to try and add another defenseman and some more firepower up front.

images

McKenzie: We've got the Rangers 1st move of the day here. They've sent a 2nd round pick to the Colorado Avalanche for Brendan Dillon.
O'Neill: The Rangers are beginning to bolster their defense. They believe internally that this is their last shot with Lundqvist and they're going to go for it.

Poulin: I'm not so sure they can though Jeff. Their young guys are going to be a year older and better next season, so maybe they can get it then, but I just don't see it with all the inexperience.

images
images

Dreger: The Rangers are making moves fast here guys. They've acquired Tomas Hertl from the Sharks, at his 50% retained contract, for Brett Ritchie, a 2020 1st and a 2021 3rd.

McGuire: The Rangers felt they have too many pass first guys, so they acquire a shooter. High price, I'd say an overpayment, but a necessary one.

Ferraro: Major overpayment, Hertl is good, but not 1st + good.

images
images

Miller: The Rangers have trade with divisional rival Carolina. Carolina gets a scoring winger in Kreider, while New York gets a defenseman in Brett Pesce. Interesting deal between 2 teams battling it out for top spot in the Metro.

Biron: The Rangers have a cap crunch coming up, Kreiders new deal was going to cost more than Pesce's current one is worth. Carolina can afford to pay him, Rangers can't. It's a mutually beneficial deal and I like it.

images
images

LeBrun: Another Rangers deal right before the Deadline ends. They've shipped Ryan Spooner off to Montreal for Charles Hudon and a 2nd in this upcoming Entry Draft. All about cap and still getting players that can contribute now for the Rangers.

McGuire: In order to gain cap space, the Rangers have to take lesser players. That's not a knock on Hudon, who is a speed demon, but it's a compliment to Spooner, who was having a splendid season. The Rangers still win the deal by getting a pick, cap space, and someone who can help them this season, but it's closer than the other deals.

Duthie: Thanks for tuning in folks, we'll see you at the NHL Free Agent Frenzy.

BREAKING NEWS: Rangers and Blues swap forwards at NHL Entry Draft
NHL Entry Draft
During the 1st round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, the Rangers and Blues struck a trade. In a one for one swap, New York received Ivan Barbashev and St. Louis got Charles Hudon. Hudon had a decent 19 games in the Regular Season with the Rangers, but after a Postseason in which the entire team struggled defensively, they wanted the more well rounded player.

BREAKING NEWS: Marc Staal shipped to Flyers, with 3rd, for 3rd.
NHL Entry Draft
The Rangers second trade of the Draft was a more signifigant deal. The Rangers dealt Marc Staal, and his burdensome contract, to the Philadelphia Flyers for a 3rd. The Rangers also sent their 3rd rounder with Staal in the deal.

Staal was the longest tenured Ranger and was an assistant captain.

Trade Breaker Desk: Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun, and Gord Miller
Instant Analysis Panel: Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Dave Poulin, Martin Biron, Pierre McGuire
Trade Bait: Craig Button
Deadline Panel: Jamie McLennan, Aaron Ward

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duthie: It's July 1st, hockey fans. You all know what that means, it's time for the TSN Free Agency Frenzy! Right away were going to send you to Craig Button so he can highlight the top Free Agents this offseason!.

Button: Well James, the Free Agent class of 2020 is defense heavy. Our big fish include Alex Pietrangelo, Tyson Barrie, Mark Pysyk and Sami Vatenen. That's not to say that there isn't forwards worth a deal too, because Chris Kreider and Charlie Coyle are also available.

Duthie: Thanks Craig, now we're going to head to our analysts to see who is projected to go where.

Ferraro: Well, it's believed the Rangers will stay out of the defense class this year, which is interesting. Instead of loading up on defense in front of Lundqvist, it seems like they're going to try and outscore the other team. Unfortunately, there aren't many option out there forward wise for them.

Poulin: I doubt they go for the reunion with Kreider, but could they go after Coyle?

O'Neill: I don't see it. They already have Hayes, who fits the Power Forward prototype. It'll be interesting to see how they load up up front.

images

McKenzie: The Rangers are having a reunion with Ryan Callahan. Their former captain has just signed a 1-year deal to come back to New York. I'm hearing this is just the start, so more to come.

Biron: Cally is a great leader. In what could be Henrik Lundqvist's last season, it would be a feel good story to see these guys win their 1st cup together, especially sine they were former teammates, obviously. It's hard to see where he fits, but they obviously think he has game left.

McLennan: The only plac ehe can fit is the 4th line. But is this signing at the expense of Chlapik or Ronning? If so I don't like it.

images

LeBrun: Another solid depth signing here by the Rangers. They've signed Nick Cousins to a 2-year deal. With these depth signings, it must mean the feel as if their kids are ready to seriously contribute for a Cup run for atleast another season. Interesting.

Ward: Cousins is a real gritty player. He plays hard, which would also fit in quite nicely on the Rangers 4th line.

images

Dreger: Headlines are being made. Are you ready folks? The Rangers, with the help of Swede Henrik Lundqvist, have convinced the Sedin's to come out of retirement and chase the Cup with him. Daniel and Henrik are joining just their 2nd NHL Franchise after coming out of retirement to seek the Cup that eluded them for so long.

Ferraro: Wow. Just wow. Speechless. The Rangers are going to go for it. If they can do this, it might be the biggest signings sentimentally and not of a player in their prime for a long, long time.

Biron: Just incredible. Swift work here by Lundqvist and King.

Button: 2 players that weren't even on my Free Agent board just came off it...

Duthie: What an incredible end to the day here at TSN. See you with more Rangers coverage at the Trade Deadline!

Season Preview

BREAKING NEWS: Ryan Callahan will wear 'A' this season
Oct. 1st, 2020
Mats Zuccarello will remain captain and Kevin Shattenkirk will retain his 'A'.

In nets, the Rangers enter the season with the most uncertainty in 15 years. Henrik Lundqvist has hit his regression due to age. Add that with the importance of Aleksandar Georgiev, who hasn't progressed the way the Rangers wanted him to, and you have a potential recipe for disaster.

images
images

The New York Rangers have a great blueline this season. Brady Skjei, Tony DeAngelo, Brandon Carlo and Brett Pesce return to man the point. Kevin Shattenkirk also has come back, but for how long is unknown, as he is a UFA at seasons end and if the season goes sideways he could be the first domino to fall. Rookie Libor Hajek made the team out of camp and is expected to be a key piece for the future. John Gilmour signed his QO and will be the teams depth defender.

images
images

The Rangers have an interesting forward group this season. Free Agent signings Henrik and Daniel Sedin form a 4th line with veteran Ryan Callahan that has the potential to be great. Filip Chytil, Mika Zibanejad, Pavel Buchnevich, Tomas Hertl Brett Howden, Kevin Hayes and Lias Andersson return. Also returning is sophomore Joe Veleno, who is expected to be a big time player for the Rangers this season. Captain Mats Zuccarello returns, and the hope is that he can have a rebound season after two subpar ones. Nick Cousins and Ivan Barbashev start the season as depth forwards.

Trade Deadline

tradecentre-2017.jpg

The TRADECENTRE broadcast team:
Host: James Duthie
Trade Breaker Desk: Bob McKenzie, Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun, and Gord Miller
Instant Analysis Panel: Ray Ferraro, Jeff O’Neill, Dave Poulin, Martin Biron, Pierre McGuire
Trade Bait: Craig Button
Deadline Panel: Jamie McLennan, Aaron Ward

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Duthie: Hello folks and welcome back to another Trade Deadline Day here at TSN. This is a pivotal one here for the Rangers, as they have seen the last of Playoff Henrik Lundqvist and the guard that was. Kevin Shattenkirk is a UFA, Kevin Hayes has struggled, and Mats Zuccarello has been injured. All three could be on the move today. For more on that, here's Craig Button.

Button: The Rangers are not happy at all with where they sit right now. Their playoffs hopes have all but mathematically ended, and their Franchise goalie is on the cusp of retirement. They will sell off assets, but how many remains to be seen. Tomas Hertl, who already has 26 goals, has not signed an extension and will almost certainly be traded. It is a foregone conclusion that Kevin Shattenkirk will also be moved after Tony DeAngelo's long-term extension. Kevin Hayes could be traded, but his value would appear to be low as he is currently a -20. Team captain Mats Zuccarello could also be traded, but the Rangers might want him to see through that the young guys learn how to be pros. Another interesting name to watch is Mika Zibanejad, who could see his days in New York numbered as the Rangers may look to move Joe Veleno back to his natural C position.

images
images

McKenzie: Tomas Hertl has offcially become the first domino to fall this Trade Deadline. The Rangers have traded him to the Toronto for prospect Timothy Liljegren and a 2022 2nd round pick. The Leafs were goring impatient with Liljegren's lack of progression and the Rangers had a scoring winger they needed.

O'Neill: The Rangers are swinging for the fences here. If Liljegren get's his game together, they win this in a landslide, but if he doesn't a 3rd pair D - if that - and a 2nd in not much to show for a guy who is going to score 30-goals.

Poulin: Liljegren was highly touted in his draft season until his bout with mono. I think if the Rangers present the right circumstances, he will get there for them.

images
images

LeBrun: The Rangers have moed Shattenkirk. The New Rochelle native has been traded to the Montreal Canadiens for a massive package including a 2021 1st and prsoepcts Connor Robets and Cale Fleury. Shattenkirk could return to the Rangers in the offseason, but only time will tell.

Biron: With the East wide open, and the Maple Leafs already adding Hertl, the Canadiens walked into the Rangers supermarket and picked the best rental D off the shelf. The Rangers got a great haul for a D that isn't known to play the best shutdown playoff hockey, but there is no questioning the offense he brings.

McGuire: I just want to make a side not saying the Rangers are stockpiling prospects. Those prospects all porject to be NHL ready within the next 2-3 years. There are not going to be spots for all of them, so look for the Rangers to package a few of them for a goaltender. Aleksandar Georgiev was a long shot succession plan, and he has failed.

images

Miller: The Sedin's are headed to Dallas. The Rangers have sent Daniel and Henrik to the Stars for a 2nd round pick in this years NHL Entry Draft and depth defesneman Dillon Heatherington.

O'Neill: Not a huge trade here. The Sedin's deserve their shot at the Cup, since it was the only reason they came out of retirement in the first place.

Ferraro: The Rangers are truly cleaning house. It's just incre-

images

Dreger: Sorry to interrupt but we've got a blockbuster trade. The Rangers and Knights have finalized a deal that should sent Mika Zibanejad and their 2nd rounder to Vegas for Alex DeBrincat, Nick Suzuki, Nic Hague, and 1st in 2022 and a 3rd in 2021.

Ferraro: Wow. Zibanejad has consistently been the Rangers best forward and he's gone. The Rangers cearly wanted to get Veleno back in the middle, and Chytil is more valuable than Zibanejad. This is a massive deal, and I'm not sure we'll know who comes out on top for a while.

McGuire: If Vegas wins the Cup this year, I don't care what anyone says, this was their win. The Rangers get quite the haul, but nothing elite. The Golden Knights are getting a bonafide elite centerman.

O'Neill: But the Rangers had three of those, is their any possible way they can really lose when they still have two, and just got this kind of haul?

Poulin: No Jeff, there is no way. I believe this is a deal that benefits both teams equally, and both will come out winners in the end.

images

McKenzie: One final deal here. The Rangers have flipped the Knights 1st rounder to the Minnesota Wild for Michael McLeod and a 4th round pick. They already have his brother Ryan in the system, and they will both chase the Calder Cup this season.

The Rangers have also signed Denis Yan to a 1-year pro-rated $0.700M contract. He will join their AHL club.

Biron: This also accelerates the Rangers roster next season. Michael McLeod will be NHL ready, whereas the 1st round pick would take years to develop.

Duthie: Thanks for tuning in everyone, we hope you enjoyed. See you at our next edition of the Free Agent Frenzy.

I'll go more in depth like all u guys later but I am the Bruins.

During the season signed guys like Keith Aulie, Mark Fraser, Milan Mihalek, Ryane Clowe, Chris Neil. Traded Clowe to the Red Wings. Traded some lesser guys for picks as well.

In trades I have received Jordan Subban and Jack Campbell.

Traded Krug and some picks for Wayne Simmonds. Traded Rick Nash who was stinking up the ice and some picks to the Blackhawks for Nashvilles 1st round pick. Also picked up some of Nash salary.

Currently 3rd in the Atlantic. Have 87 points I believe and am 1 point behind the Leafs for 2nd in the Atlantic with 10 games left to play

My current line up

Marchand Bergeron Pastrnak
Donato Krejci Simmonds
Bjork Heinen Debrusk
Kuraly Nash Senshyn

Chara McAvoy
Grzelyck Carlo
Aulie McQuaid

Rask
Khudobin

Schaller/Wingels scratched

Backes and a lot of the vets I signed above are in Providence

May call up Subban and Zboril for defense before the playoffs since both were pretty good in their stints up for the main squad

my 2nd and 3rd lines are my most dangerous ones

Chara retired after the season as did Neil

Backes and Krecji were both put on the block

LAK offered me a 2019 1st for Krecji and since he is at 81 rating and his contract is like 7M for more than 3 more years I pulled the trigger

NJD offered me some picks for Backes another guy getting 5M and only 82 rating pulled the trade off my draft was

LW Peluso
D Bodak
F Bellandrea
D Walker
G Chubisov
D Martineua
F Damani
D Charlebois
