This is the last time i ever buy an NHL game. 15 sucked, this one's gameplay sucks too.

Hockey isn't meant to be played at ****ing 2 miles per hour with half the teams acting like idiots.

I'm sure it works great for EASHL, but it sure as hell doesn't in 1 v 1.

Perusing the internets, I see a few issues popping up that have plagued the series for a while.
I'm hoping someone here can comment:

  • CPU still goes into Berzerker mode if it's losing late in the 3rd period. It's players are jacked up attribute wise, and getting the puck or rebound from them is nearly impossible.
  • CPU gets attribute boosts in certain situations. Like slow dmen suddenly beating speedy wingers to loose pucks in the corner.
  • CPU has an almost 6th sense about where a loose puck will end up.
  • CPU doesn't take enough penalties.
  • CPU teammates are still braindead who simply watch the puck carrier but won't attack or even attempt a poke check or stick lift.
  • All of CPU's players are superstars capable of threading needles, sniping goals and dangling like Kane.

These are the things that have bothered me about this series for a while.
I was hoping to see some of them addressed.

My stomach actually turned when I though that that was list of your impressions on 16. Gotta read from the beginning

Based on two games on allstar with hardcore settings in be a pro only:

no
no
2 of the goals I saw may support it, a shot, rebound another shot, but I also saw a goal by my team that way, so....
they take a good amount of penalties in be a pro
they actually forechecked in be a pro and the active stick of a cpu teammate broke up a few awful passes by the opponent, so they are better
nope.

If you only played a couple of games last year, maybe 10 for HUT. Will you have to wait if you pre-ordered (deluxe version) to open the "free" packs?

Can't find any free packs right now.

What I noticed in a couple Be a Pro games I played is that the AI on the offensive end is a lot smarter. When I'm carrying the puck they actually move into lanes, rotate correctly, set up of cycles. I wish they'd shoot a little more from the point or simply dump it in the corner but tuning can pretty much solve that. I'm happy with the product so far.

One gripe about the game is that you have to choose a play by play name for your be a pro/EASHL pro. It's annoying because some people (like me) don't have the same last names as the preset play by play ones. Which means I'm forced to choose one like Demers or any other one from the D names (like Datsyuk :P) So annoying. Old gen was better for be a pro/EASHL because you didn't have to choose a play by play name

So you're not automatically thrown onto the first line and given 20 minutes a night for be a pro?!

Anybody making the rookies (and other players) that are not in the game? I wouldn't mind a template for myself so I can create them for my GM mode. I wish there was a roster file share. That would make it so much easier.

Found this from another site:
There's still plenty of issues I have though that may make me change my mind as I play through the trial.

In this Det/Tor game, I dump it into their zone, Phaneuf gains control of the puck, and I press him into the boards in the corner to the right of the net. A second player of mine comes to help, and the puck all of the sudden is kicked backwards out of the pile by Phaneuf to a teammate who is between the blue line, and the face off circle on the LEFT side of the ice. and It's a rocket too. That's completely ridiculous to me that stuff like that happens in this game still.

One of their goals, again, deep in my zone, the rocket passing begins, they're guys are flying, mine are standing still as they burry a one timer with a wide open man out front. The same garbage goals I've seen from the CPU over the years where you just feel cheated.

There's still far too many times for my liking where I feel like the CPU players have no effects of speed, acceleration, physics, they just have total speed and total control at all times. Now, I love the way my controlled players skate. It feels good. It feels natural. However, the weight, and momentum that I feel as the player, and I see my guys skating with, seems like it's completely missing at times with the CPU Players.

I've only played 2.5 games now, but those two issues have always been big issues for me, and it seems they are still present.

That's very disheartening to hear.
It's an issue that's been plaguing this series for far too long.

Why has it not been fixed?

Can anyone confirm the exact amount of created players you can make? Would be a big help

Things I'd like to know:

- Do players grow in the CHL before they are drafted (what overall should I make my created 2017/2018/2019 draftees)
- Do young players grow in height/weight
- What's the progression system for other players in the BAP(Not my created pro)
- Anything related to prospects, drafting and creating/editing players that might have an affect.

I don't get why after 2 games people write ridiculous reviews. That's hardly enough time to grasp anything or tweak anything.

I didn't have issues like that. I was playing on superstar too. The CPU does some stuff that makes me wonder like they can beat you to a lose puck too easily but that's what tuners are for. If people are hating on the game less than 5 games played i take it with a grain of salt. I've played about 10 games and I'd say the gameplay is a lot better..

Defence matters. Poke checks work. Blocking passing lanes work. The goalies are a bit better. You can't skate through everyone and just wind up writers with all the time in the world.

I noticed it's harder to trade. They want good value. Picks don't get you anyone anymore. Which I was glad to see.

The CPU can be hard to shut down at times but if you play the passing lanes and don't chase you can force turnovers.

I've enjoyed it a lot so far personally.

-I haven't noticed CHL players grow in overall before they're drafted.
-Yes, they do grow in height and weight. Dylan Strome grew from 6'3" 187lbs to 6'4" 196lbs after a year.
-Didn't touch Be a Pro yet.
-After you edit a player, the game will change their drafted info to being drafted #1 Overall by the team their on right now.

Can't find any free packs right now.

Where it shows your daily coin bonus, you need to hit "Check Other Rewards" and that's where your returning packs will show. Same as it was last year.
From the HUT Hub, click on the 25 Daily coin tab and it will bring it up. Then you have to click over to Marketplace and Unopened Packs to actually open them...

Oh another thing I'd like an answer to:

Is the player progression same in the sense that all young players have 99 speed and all the DFDs have 5 star shooting with 99 power and 70 acc?
