Actually, it's more likely going to end up as more of a "phew, that's a relief" instead of praising EA.

Yeah, I know my reaction is going to be more of a "**** you EA for dragging this out" more than a "thank you EA for not removing a beloved game mode."

Probably. Even though that should've been the intro like 5 years ago and they didn't really need the new-gen console firepower to make an intro like that.

The stuff inside the stadium with the NBC graphics will be on both but I won't be buying a PS4 if that's only the major difference in presentation.

I hope the gameplay today is good and not just a 1 minute trailer on the arena with warm ups. I want proper game play. Why not just upload a match between two developers?

Also, I wouldn't put it past EA to leave out EASHL and to then have it come out as a DLC with a price.

If they remove gm connected I don't think I would still have the intention to buy the game...

No gm connected
No be a gm
No EASHL?

What kind of game should be that? A better demo version for 70 €?

I find it hilarious that everyone is freaking out about removed game moves all because of a theory from fans

Why would EA reply to anybody on twitter? That would defeat the purpose of having an announcement of what's in the game if everybody already knows. People have been emailing, and posting on forums for years trying to find out all the little changes in games. They never responded then and they aren't going to respond now.

Couldn't agree more with you. There is no evidence in this whole no EASHL/GMC rumour. People are only making assumptions. Most people think EA not giving information regarding game modes means there won't be those game modes. Doesn't fit my logic. I'm not saying that I'm sure there will be EASHL and/or GMC but just find it funny people freak out just because of rumours. If it's officially confirmed then you got all the rights to be angry and dissapointed.

People seem to think this was all made up by fans that looked on the Best Buy website... that's not where it came from.

It stemmed from people with contacts that are game testers, developers, etc. citing that the builds (that apparently look final) they're playing on don't feature EASHL or GMC. Now, whether or not they're reliable will be seen within the next week. But stop trying to brush off rumors as if someone just made the up randomly... we have a right to be concerned.

Are OHL, AHL etc barns all authentic as well? Or just NHL. Im guessing only NHL but that would be ****in amazing. I happen to love starting LTL from OHL

Oh dear. That's poor

Blame the PS3/Xbox 360. They don't have the computing power for the crowds. Maybe the arenas, but not the crowds. And why would they emphasize the 360 and 3 versions? Developers and the companies want people going to next gen and if a better experience awaits on the 4 and One, that entices players to actually buy a console.

You people need to start thinking like businessmen and not children.

They've got the names, but I don't think the arenas are authentic.

And to be honest, even the NHL arenas don't look that great to me. The lighting is awful in the upper sections so you can't really tell and the angles you're viewing the game on, you're probably not going to see much than the first few rows anyway.

Fine with me. If the only difference between the pre-gen and next-gen versions is the crowd and authentic arenas, two things that have nothing to do with the actual gameplay, then it's tough to justify an $400 NHL machine.

Think about it this way: NHL is a low-resource franchise. They probably have a static, small number of servers allocated to them. They can divide those servers as they see fit. They already know that a community of players exists on previous-gen consoles that is large enough to push their servers to the limit. The choices are then:

A) All servers to 360/PS3 - maintain current service level for your existing customers, and don't provide service for "new" (cirrent-gen) customers. Requires lowest investment of development time.

B) Split your servers between previous and current gen. Provide substandard service to everyone! Requires enough development hours to build EASHL and add server infrastructure.

C) All servers to XB1/PS4. Provide no support to your existing customers and bank on having enough "new" customers to make it worthwhile. Requires same development effort as B.

If I'm a business unit with limited resources, it's not a tough choice. I don't think the assumptions I made were too outlandish.

Most people don't think about this. They think "Big company. Greedy. Evil. Cheap. Nickel and dime consumers."

Their facebook page says "overhead gameplay", so it's probably proper gameplay.

12 player collisions, puck phsysics, upgraded skill stick, player likeness, layered player builds and 'vision AI' will all be lacking in old-gen versions and should all make a huge difference to game play

Yeah I figured it would be A LOT to have ALL of those arenas.....Yeah and you really won't see much of them except during intros, cut scenes, goals etc...The lightning in some will be poor yeah but I think its miles better than what we have now..I'm excited for the whole new presentation personally.

pre-gen has "multiplayer collision physics". Hard to believe that's not the same thing as "12 player collisions".

As for puck physics, "upgraded" skill stick, player likeness, and vision AI, those are all buzzwords used every single year by EA and people never notice a change. Every year they say the same thing and every year people complain about those things.

The problem is that with the XBox One/PS4, they can put more coding and I don't recall them ever bringing in a physician for their physics before...

Also the presentation from NHL 14 & 15 is night and day. The commentators will bring a fresh feeling to the NHL franchise.
