He’s at most a special package on offense player. I have no problem drafting him with the intent to add another elite CB but you can’t bank on solving the WR position by adding him. He’s not going to be able to do in the NFL what he did in college

And the Patriots haven't good since we had one. McDaniels loves using them. They better be ALL over this.
As for Hunter, I think you can design enough plays to have him do both. He can 100% be a WR in the NFL.

Cooper Kupp To Patriots? Encouraging Update On Star Wideout
Cooper Kupp has been available to the Patriots for over a month now, but the veteran wide receiver apparently is about to become really up for grabs.
The Rams sought a trade for Kupp almost immediately after their 2024 season ended in the NFC divisional round. Los Angeles failed to find a dance partner before the start of the NFL’s legal tampering period, though, and it now plans to release Kupp after the new league year starts Wednesday if a trade doesn’t materialize in the coming days, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
That update was promising for the Patriots, who should be interested in Kupp but probably weren’t keen on giving up valuable draft capital for a receiver who turns 32 in June. But New England soon might be able to acquire the Super Bowl LVI MVP via cash alone, and the Patriots still have more than enough cap space even after their latest spending spree.
Monday’s slate of moves included reportedly agreeing to terms with veteran wideout Mack Hollins, who undoubtedly will make Drake Maye’s supporting cast better. But the Patriots still are behind the eight ball when it comes to pass-catching groups around the league, and Kupp certainly would help New England take strides in that area.

The New England Patriots could potentially be trading quarterback Joe Milton this offseason.
The NFL offseason has officially begun now that the free agency market is going, but players are also on the move via trades. One player that could potentially be on the move for the New England Patriots is quarterback Joe Milton, according to Jordan Schultz.
"The have had discussions on trading QB Joe Milton III and would like to trade him to the right situation to continue his development in the NFL — should a deal get done," Shultz said in a tweet on X.
Schultz also mentioned that the Patriots really like Milton but that they feel the organization has their next franchise quarterback in Drake Maye.
Milton started for the Tennessee Volunteers for one season prior to entering the NFL in 2023. He threw for 2,813 yards, 20 touchdowns, five interceptions and completed 64.7 percent of his passes. Milton also played in the final game of the season for the Patriots last year and he threw for 241 yards, a touchdown and completed 75.9 percent of his passes.
The former Volunteers has shown some promise at the professional level and it looks like it might even be enough for other teams to be interested in trading for him. Certainly a situation to monitor as the offseason progresses and as the NFL Draft approaches.

Free agency is so funny, where Day 1 is all about the excitement and overreacting to the money, and then Day 2 you start to see the actual structure and realize how much of the money is fake.
2025 free agent cap hits are ~$32-33M so far (excluding Landry, Spillane, and Moses), so if the total cap hit for those three in the $20-25M range, they probably have around $70M in cap space remaining.

Still have major holes to address on offense. They don't have any WR that's above a #3 and they have multiple holes still in the OL, including most likely needing a Center.
Seems like they are going to try to address a lot of this via the draft, which scares me considering how bad they've been at draft skill guys and even OL the last handful of years.

It’s an improvement for sure. If I’m knit picking I don’t like that almost all of their signings yesterday are on the wrong side of 30. They still need a left tackle (I’ll cringe if they pick Campbell at 4 because they couldn’t land a LT in free agency).
Also not much added in terms of weapons yet. It sounds as if they’re at least making an effort (see Godwin). Hoping they anti up for Kupp. He’s not perfect but he’d clearly be the #1 here.
