They don’t want to lose him for nothingBut if they’re both getting paid like that then you factor in burrow, it’s a mess. Idk what’s going on, they should be letting him hit UFA

My guess is Higgins wants outI’m seeing they want a longterm deal unless that’s just to drive up price?
Where do you see that
Bleacher report update on my phone
Its the Bosa on the chargers
I have seen theories he is going to join his brother in SF
Releasing Takitaki results in $1.0 Million in Dead Cap, but saves the Patriots $1.84 million.
With the cap going up more than expected, the Patriots now have $120.7 in effective cap space. That's roughly $30 million more than any other team. They should be active.
Looking at their roster, they still have some options to create additional cap space, if they want. Cutting Vederian Lowe would give them another ~$2.5 million in cap space. Releasing Kendrick Bourne would create ~$4.0 million, and releasing David Andrews saves them roughly $1.8 million. They could get to just shy of $130 million in spending money, if they want to.

Patriots have caught a break - it’s a good draft. Only Ward is a likely legit top 3 OA QB but it’s very deep with as Daniel Jeremiah says future starters.
Ideally id like to see them flip with Raiders grab a 2 and pick TE Warren from Penn State
He is from the Gronk tree and can give Drake a receiving weapon and can help in run game and blocking
Antonio Gibson amazingly was #1 in NFL with 4.4 yards after contact which tells you the D was in the backfield in a second
Warren can help that area as well
Getting Ronnie Stanley would be significant add to OL
I can't see the Patriots being the team to give Trey Smith a huge contract. He effectively plays the same position as Mike Onwenu, and I think there's an organizational need to find out what they've got in players like Strange, Sow, Wallace, and Robinson. If they want to add to the IOL, I could see them signing a relatively low cost player who can flip between LG and C.My wish list for UFA's / moves for the Pats:
Trey Smith - G - he will make a boatload of money this year
Chris Godwin - WR
DJ Reed - CB
Milton Williams - DT
Alaric Jackson - T
Darius Slayton - WR
Get rid of Ramondre Stephenson's contract somehow
I don't think it's a good draft. I think there are some positions where it's intriguing, but overall, it's a lousy year to have the 4th overall selection.Patriots have caught a break - it’s a good draft. I’m listening to a lot of podcasts and watching a lot of NFL Network, the locals like Perry etc and the consensus it’s a working men’s draftI can't see the Patriots being the team to give Trey Smith a huge contract. For me, Milton Williams is basically another Christian Barmore... really good interior pass rusher who struggles against the run. Given that the Patriots were horrid against the run last year, I'd be focusing more on adding someone who could address that need more than someone who essentially duplicates what Barmore brings to the table.
Godwin is another player who is really good, but maybe isn't a great fit for what the Pats are looking for. He's more of a big slot than an outside speed guy. Their best WR now is probably Pop Douglas, who's also a slot receiver, albeit a different style of slot receiver than Godwin. Someone like Darius Slayton seems like a better fit for what the Pats are looking for than Godwin.
I'm with you on DJ Reed and Alaric Jackson. I'd like to see the Patriots pursue both aggressively.
There's no pressing need to move on from Stevenson at this point. No matter what they do, it'll cost them cap space. Give him another year behind what hopefully an improved line and see what happens. I wouldn't mind adding another RB in the draft, but not before pick #77.

I like Warren. Using the 6th pick in the draft on a TE is not a recipe for success, IMO.
Agree - they need to get #4 rightI think it depends on your definition of good. While the Patriots need everything, what they really need is blue chip talent, and the draft doesn't have much of that. You're probably not getting a 1st rd star that you could have in other years.
What they do with #4, whether that's picking or trading, likely isn't changing the future of the team on its own. It's getting something valuable from #38, #69, and #77 that will determine how long the rebuild lasts. They can't have a repeat of this past year where they got nothing from Polk and Wallace.
If they get Stanley on a Bregman deal (he is 31) I’d go ass-kicking on DLGood stuff on the Draft from Bert Breer, who interviewed Daniel Jeremiah and Todd McShay this week.

NFL Scouting Combine 2025: Key Story Lines to Watch This Week
NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah and former ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay break down the top prospects.www.si.com
“I’d be pissed off if I’m a team like New England where I desperately need a tackle,” McShay says. “Where’s my Joe Alt? [LSU’s Will] Campbell’s a really good player, steady as can be. I think he’ll be a good tackle—I do, despite the arm length. It’s just not the prototype I’m looking for if I have a top-five pick and I got this franchise quarterback that I just unearthed last year and I really need to protect him.”
