Patriots/NFL NFL & Patriots off season

Great discussion on Sports Hub this afternoon: Did witnessing the Eagles dominate KC at the line change your opinion of what the Pats draft strategy should be? Last year we had some fans here clamoring for Marvin Harrison Jr at 3rd overall. Mock drafts have the Pats taking Travis Hunter at 4.

IF Abdul Carter is available at 4 I think he’s your guy. He’s projected to go to Cleveland at 2. Do the Pats draft Will Campbell? Mason Graham? I avoid taking Hunter. O-line or D-line has to be the play. You can sign a WR in free agency.

Thoughts?

I was very high on Kelvin Banks at LT for a good while, but I was unimpressed with him in the playoff. I like Will Campbell a lot, and I think the Patriots should draft him or Banks if Carter isn’t available at 4. That offensive line needs a lot of work and a wide receiver won’t help the Patriots if the QB is getting blindsided all day.

Hopefully, a QUALITY receiver can be added through free agency or later in the draft.

That’s my two cents.

If Travis Hunter is there, you have to take him. He's a generational talent. If we pass on him, I'll be severely disappointed.

It's Carter or Hunter for me. If they both aren't there? Mason Graham or Will Cambell. But that's my order.

I get it's a big need, but man there isn't an OL in this draft worth thinking about at 4OA.

At this point it's Hunter or Carter

If you draft Hunter, what are you drafting him as? CB or WR? He's not gonna play both positions consistently......not in the NFL. So which is it?

I don't see Carter falling to #4, but stranger things have happened.

I honestly think that if Carter isn't there at 4, the best move for NE is to try to trade down...

I think you draft him as a CB. But you can definitely sprinkle him out there for 10-20 reps at WR. He can handle it.

I think folks are buying into the hype of Hunter playing both positions. Not in the NFL. I’m not sure I use the 4th overall on a CB. Does he really project to be an elite WR in the NFL?

You have your QB, now fix the line & build up the D so the kid isn’t playing from behind every game

If Hunter only played CB he'd be a first rounder but maybe not this hyped, and if he only played WR I'm not sure where he'd go. The fact that he does both makes his stock a bit overbought. I'd still take him on the team for sure, but it's a tossup between him and Carter for me (but I doubt Carter gets to 4).

I think if Carter is gone and Hunter still there at #4 the Pats are taking him.
