Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. No way would that be attainable, it's pretty much Lucic OR a defenseman unless they move multiple contracts like Brown, Gaborik or King and Clifford.

That's absolutely not possible cap wise. Your total team cap hit would be over $80 million.

Trade King, Clifford to save $3.5 million, Matt Greene to LTIR to save $2.75 million and either buyout or send down Scuderi to save $900k or the equivalent of $ 7.15 million in added cap space to be used toward Hamhuis and possibly Versteeg... Not sure if it all adds up but it's a better team than last season and that team had 102 points but our defense looks better and Pearson in the top line adds speed and skill

Can't just LTIR a guy if you feel like it. All reports indicate that Greene will be ready by training camp.

Last i read Greene was having issues with his shoulder still..be it scar tissue or weakness do to atrophy..
But if he is healthy i would pair him with AMart.. and add depth to our bottom 6

I like this, except may still be too hard to sign Lucic and Versteeg.
I agree about moving King and Clifford. King: No marked improvement the last few years. Was really hoping to count on the guy for 15 goals by now. No improvement for Clifford either...his speed increased 2 years ago, but not much to show for it.
By moving King, (who really can be replaced by anyone) that would give room to sign Lucic. He won't take 3 yrs, but maybe they can get him on a 4 yr. I think Kempe has a shot to make the team.
He'll be 20 by the start of the season. Can give the team speed and skill on any of the top 3 lines.
Stother's knows him better than anyone here and believes he's capable to make the jump now, if he can be consistent. I believe he can be. The team needs speed and skill, period...and going to be hard to add that, with limited assets to deal and limited funds.

I think they manage to get a top 4 D in UFA this year. Then if Greene can't play they find a RD that can play 3rd pairing.
I'd LOVE for the Kings to add Paul Postma from the Jets. He is a powerplay BEAsT that can play 3rd pairing as a puck mover. Would help the struggling PP and the Jets have done their best to bury the guy so he would be cheap as hell (like mid round 4-5 round pick would get it done]. Hell even if Greene can play you add Postma and run this and not be out of place with top teams.

Even if Greene can't play, it doesn't help in the summer. Same with putting Scuderi in Ontario. Those can only knock off cap space when the season starts.

I really like Postma but having McNabb-Greene as a pair is quite horrifying....swap Martinez and McNabb and we'll have a much improved defensive core.... I still say Nabs-DD because Sutter seemed to like that pairing....
Virtually any of those D scenarios that have been proposed are just plain brutal. Dean will be very busy trying to cobble something together but its likely to be costly.

being able to bring up Martinez, Voynov, Muzzin the last 3-5 years
was huge...not having another emerge the last 3 years has hurt.
Hopefully, Gravel, Ladue, and Cernak emerge quickly...as in another year. Think Gravel emerges this year. Have some hopes for those 3.
Forbort may be ok, but surprised if he will be that good.
Trade Gaborik and King for picks. Resign Lucic. Sign Demers and Helm. Sign cheap backup goalie.
