We were the loser franchise that were calling for the tank job since game 1 of the season from about 2009 until McDavid's draft. lol.How did we?
I think it's Mark Hunter. Sure JJ said no rookie GM but Mark isn't a rookie. Maybe in the NHL but he's ran an elite Knights team for 14 years.
Man- that time was painful. Tambo couldn’t even do a proper rebuild. Remember Smithson was the big TDL get one year.We were the loser franchise that were calling for the tank job since game 1 of the season from about 2009 until McDavid's draft. lol.
Which Hunter? the kid or lynxIs the Sam O'Reilly pick a sign that Hunter's opinion carries a lot of weight?
He must be the reason my offers of 177th for 156th type trades work in the NHL games.Trading away the 156th pick for 177th, with not getting anything back is an interesting way to GM.
Hunter the lynx has been running the team for a while I thinkWhich Hunter? the kid or lynx
I don't even remember such player. lolMan- that time was painful. Tambo couldn’t even do a proper rebuild. Remember Smithson was the big TDL get one year.
I think that would still fall under the "outta left field" category.Any thoughts on Dave Brown? Been the GM in Erie since 2015, obvious connections with coach Kris and Jeff. Also would keep up with the “everything McDavid” trend. Not suggesting but curious if anyone has thoughts on him. Don’t blast me please lol.

And so they shouldEvery insider so far has said that the next hire will have NHL experience and that it won't be a rookie
Or…..Holland had a succession plan but it wasnt Accepted? It kind of shocks me that we don’t have a GM in place yet as Holland leaving this offseason has been well known for a long time. On the flip side, it seems like JJ and co are doing their due diligence which is admirable
Yes, I think people would be surprised if they hired a guy with zero pro hockey experience. I'd be pretty disappointed. For sure. Like I said had no intention of suggesting him for role.
We have his former Jr coach and his former agent, I guess what I should be asking is if anyone would be surprised if we hired his former GM?
Horcoff is a very sharp guy though.I hope it’s Horc just because I want to see yet another early 2000s era Oiler as a GM

I asked a stupid question about a CHL GM. I don’t think there are any rumours involving a CHL GM and our vacancyJJ said the candidates they had in mind were currently working for other NHL teams for the draft. I dont understand the smoke about Bowman or these CHL GM's
I don't remember his wording but did he explicitly say that all the candidates were in the NHL?JJ said the candidates they had in mind were currently working for other NHL teams for the draft. I dont understand the smoke about Bowman or these CHL GM's

They could still have candidates outside the NHL, but are waiting for permission to talk to all their candidates before moving forward in the process.
Anyone here buying into that link in the main board about the Oilers having interest in Stan Bowman. All the Oiler bashers like Three on Zero having a field day with it.
