I'm sure a lot of clubs would want him as director of amateur scouting. A lot of his picks are now breaking out in Columbus. But his judgment as GM in the last few years was bad enough that I'm not sure he gets another GM job. I'm not sure one way or the other, whereas if he was fired a couple years ago I'm sure he would have another GM gig.
He's a decent GM. He absolutely attempted to reload instead of rebuild in the name of keeping his job after Bread and Bob left. It obviously didn't work.

No one in the business is going to fault him for that choice. Teams in reality do not blow it up unless they're at least coming off of one brutal season. They always try.

Both the Blues and Columbus always found scrappy, great depth guys. He's an excellent scout and evaluator of the kind of glue that you need to complete a roster. I respect him as a no bullshit guy, from the little I've heard him say publicly.

But as GM, his treatment of players in Columbus showed a lack of self-awareness and hurt the team. He's not a guy who should have final say or be front-facing at all in negotiations.
