You must be a school teacher.I knew them all except for cheugy. No idea when that started being a thing.

Haha no, I just work at a Costco, and a lot of the people we hire are college aged kids, so I've picked up some of the lingo. For example, I already knew about 'rizz' being short for charisma, but I recently learned that it can be a verb too. "I rizzed up Jessica at the lake this weekend" was the example I was given. You must be a school teacher.

Parent of teenagers, all of these are old news to me except cheugy which I’ve never heard of. Makes me wonder if it’s a west coast thing… seems like there’s always some unheard-of word in slang lists because California kids are saying it.
yep that's the only one I didn't know, now having a nephew that's the generation AFTER Gen Z, THAT'S when the slang starts getting really unintelligible.I knew them all except for cheugy. No idea when that started being a thing.
The sad part is, I imagine if you asked any younger kids, most of that list is probably outdated and makes you seem like an old person. I know “sus” is probably on its way out, if it’s not already old.
One that I know they missed is “unc”. Short for “uncle”, basically refers to anyone in a position of power.
that one's more Gen Alpha than Gen Z and seems to be the younger side at that. That and "Ohio" are about as familiar as "Gnarly" was to Boomers.I don’t know if I’d say outdated, but Gen Z has had those words thrown back at them from older people for long enough that they’re taking on more of an ironic tone.
I note that they didn’t even attempt to make Tripp use skibidi.

Definitely a thing. Basically the equivalent of sketch or bad for them. And not bad in the Jive/1980s sense in terms of use of the word.Never heard Ohio used as slang either.
Far out man.Well, I just think the whole thing i groovy.

Where are sus things most likely to happen?
There ya go.
I mean, Florida, but they didn't go with that.Where are sus things most likely to happen?

All I know about rizz is that it spawned this thing and it's family, and for that I will forever be annoyed

I mean, "Florida man"....nuff said.I’m sure there’s a master’s thesis somewhere in the fact that Gen Z chooses Ohio over Florida as their archetype of “place where sketchy stuff happens”.
I thought we were labeled to an NHL worst season 5 ptsEven though it's early, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that we actually make the playoffs!
I do that to my youngest, who BTW is a band geek. I was giving them a hard time about "their" language. specifically the phrase "slaps". Seems if something slaps its a good thing. So at her competitions as the bands are coming onto the field the announcer read "air grams" that family and friends send as good luck wishes and a way to help the bands generate money, I sent her the air gram of "You slaps funky buffaloes"I'm a teacher. I hear this stuff all the time. Simp. Rizz. Cheugy. Skibidi. It is what it is. At least they explain most of them to me if I ask, unless it's so filthy they just tell me not to look it up.
Honestly the best thing I've learned to do is when they start using words that are dumb, I just use them. Nothing sucks the cool out of a word like hearing your middle aged physics teacher sling these words like a teenager.
I don't think I've ever heard anyone use "skibidi" unironicallyI don’t know if I’d say outdated, but Gen Z has had those words thrown back at them from older people for long enough that they’re taking on more of an ironic tone.
