You must be a school teacher.
Haha no, I just work at a Costco, and a lot of the people we hire are college aged kids, so I've picked up some of the lingo. For example, I already knew about 'rizz' being short for charisma, but I recently learned that it can be a verb too. "I rizzed up Jessica at the lake this weekend" was the example I was given.

I knew them all except for cheugy. No idea when that started being a thing.

Parent of teenagers, all of these are old news to me except cheugy which I’ve never heard of. Makes me wonder if it’s a west coast thing… seems like there’s always some unheard-of word in slang lists because California kids are saying it.

The sad part is, I imagine if you asked any younger kids, most of that list is probably outdated and makes you seem like an old person. I know “sus” is probably on its way out, if it’s not already old.

One that I know they missed is “unc”. Short for “uncle”, basically refers to anyone in a position of power.

I don’t know if I’d say outdated, but Gen Z has had those words thrown back at them from older people for long enough that they’re taking on more of an ironic tone.

I note that they didn’t even attempt to make Tripp use skibidi.

that one's more Gen Alpha than Gen Z and seems to be the younger side at that. That and "Ohio" are about as familiar as "Gnarly" was to Boomers.

All I know about rizz is that it spawned this thing and it's family, and for that I will forever be annoyed

To my understanding, the two that are generally with him are not his family. Which makes the entire thing even weirder.

I have an uncle who lives overseas, and before the election, he asked me how the country was holding up. I said "Well, Baby Gronk challenged the Rizzler to a fight, Kelce smashed a phone, and there's a lot of focus on a dead squirrel, so I'd say the masses are sufficiently distracted."
