So while we don't know why Arnott failed the physical, is it safe to assume they probably aren't gonna touch him now? Even if he does fix whatever the problem was unless it's something very minor?

I hope they don't steal our Sykie, but Sather's had him before. He was awful in the 06 playoffs against us. I remember quite a few gifts from him that round.

Arnott had knee surgery between seasons and the Rangers didn't feel he was up to snuff. They're done with him, he's back to free agency..

Just as well that we don't have to see him with the Rangers. It would just feel really weird. I don't blame him though for wanting to sign there with them. It's probably hard to find work for him right now.

Depends whether another team's doctors have another opinion. Back in the day, Detroit had a trade in place to send Kyle Quincey to Dallas. Quincey proceeded to fail his physical and the trade was rescinded. Detroit tried to send Quincey down to the AHL as a result and the Kings pounced on him on waivers.

i thought arnott would come back here for cheap, or to detroit. glad hes not on the rangers, and i did find it humorous that he failed a physical.

Yup.

Subban didn't deserve a long term deal, Max and Price both got their bridge contracts, PK gets his. The holdout was Pejorative Slured.

Good, now he'll play and I don't have to be pissed about my fantasy defence.

Good term for anybody looking to poach him in the future too.

Habs win for now, but it would have benefited them to steal a year or 2 of UFA down the line.

Regardless, they get 2 years of Subban - that's worth every penny for the time being.

The best part is now people can stop inventing Larsson-Subban deals.

The fact that Bergevin didn't try to lock him up now just means he doesn't realize how good he is. He's gonna cost way more after two years than he would have for 5 or 6 years now, I think.

We should try and get him when he goes UFA

we need a good Canadian Defence again

We have a very diverse blueline. One Russian, two Swedes, One Czech, three Americans, one Canadian. I think.

Does anyone know if anyone has stats on "Third" Assists?

I kinda wanna see how many defencemen would have alot more points if they counted

Carolina waived Zach Boychuk. Seems like somebody's going to claim him.

(I think once the season starts, the waiver priority is set by the percentage points rather than last year's standings. So Florida/Washington/Philly would have first dibs rather than Columbus/Edmonton/Montreal).

Edit: Normally the waiver priority in the first month of the season is based on last year's standings. But nobody's quite 100% sure if the procedure is changed in the shortened season. But it's looking like Columbus/Edmonton/Montreal/etc in that order would have priority.
