:skeptic:

On another note, I wouldn't mind too much if Lou claimed Connolly. Not like we'd be expecting him to be a top 6 center like Burke did. He'd be good depth, and if it doesn't work out, he sits and he's gone in a few months.

Way too expensive for the role.

The Devils wouldn't have made the Finals last year.

Who knows? Maybe we would have won it. Burns is a #1 defense in this league, 26 years old, 6' 5'' 225lbs, plays the PP, the PK and signed a 5 year deal under 6 million per. He is one of the most underrated D man in the league.

No clue to be honest but Irving is 24 years old I feel Lou puts in a claim for him.

We have enough goalies in the system. No reason to claim Karlsson, especially when we'd have to cut Moose in order to make room for him.

More importantly, ERIXON got cut by the Blue Jackets. :biglaugh:

Wow, that is incredible. Is he cut completely, or just getting sent to the AHL?

Either way, I still don't understand how Sather manages to trade these schlubs for big name players. You'd think people would have figured this out by now and stop trading with him.

Bob McKenzie says Redden could have a team by tonight.

Why?

Weird. I can't wait to see which team takes the chance he still has something left. I'm pleased to be secure in the knowledge that it won't be us. Not with 8 NHL defencemen already on the team.

To be totally blunt, I'd rather sign Connolly than Gomez if we had to sign one of them.

As badly as his skills diminished, he's still a 3rd pairing caliber guy on some teams. Heck, Ottawa could use a veteran guy with Cowen being injured.

He wasn't really that bad on the Rangers. They gave him a ridiculous contract that he could never live up to and the fans turned on him.

Looking at his hockey-reference Defensive Point Share totals he was still solid on the defensive end for the rangers. Gave them a 4.7 DPS the 1st year and the 2nd year a 3.8 DPS. For a reference last season Salvador was our best with a DPS with 5.7 and Fayne was #2 at 3.8.

At the time of his waiving, I agree. The guy hasn't played in the NHL in close to 3 calendar years. I can't see him being a 3rd pairing guy anywhere, which is the qualifications to play for the Flyers.

So we got that going for us.

But what were his CORSI numbers? That's the only thing that counts with defensemen.:sarcasm:

I have a feeling Eklund will be trolling us tonight saying we're gonna be signing Redden. He's been saying we were in on Benn, and O'Reilly.:shakehead:shakehead

His Corsi On was 7.78 and .94.

He was good for 4th best for Corsi Rel QoC on the Rangers behind Staal, Rozsival, and Girardi both years.

I think the biggest problem with Redden was they couldn't afford the cap hit. He is better than Stralman, BIckel, Eeminger, Scott, and Woywitka.
