News from Around the AHL NHL KHL 2024 25

Was looking at the Rags cap, they have so many holes to fill and only 9 million in cap space. Miller and Cuylle are going to take most of that 9 million. If they have their first this year, they won't have their first and second next season. They might just give the pick to Van this year to not give up a top 5 pick next season.

No worries, The rags have that Skinny Perreault Kid to save them now. Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Miller, Kravtsov, Schneider, Miller, and all these kids were being pumped up to be an abundance of riches and Cuylle turns out to the best. (heck of a player Cuylle is, wonder is someone makes an offer on him)

Holmy has more goals and 3 less points than Laf in 7 less games. Looking back at headlines he was suppose to be an NHL superstar

Don’t worry about the rangers lack of cap space I’m sure there is a team already willing to take in a bad contact or two to help them out. It never fails

That’s true. Curious about Kreider.

I can’t see Zbinajed just because of years left.

My guess is Keandre gets traded for a first somewhere

Plenty of posters here that still post consistently that were ranting and raving about how the Rangers rebuild was such a success.

I been saying for years the Rangers should have traded for Eichel when they had the chance. it was the most perfect fit for that team and didn't want to give up prospects that for the sake of argument haven't lived up to the hype. I would have did everything to make sure the Sabres would accept my offer eating 50% of Eichels contract(ie pay extra). That would have been huge to the Rangers fielding a top team

Bird in a hand........ There were trade proposals where 90 point center Brayden point for kakko was like outlandishly low for some blue shirt fans

Lafrenierre, Lindgren, 1st and Ryan Strome(for salary purpose) for Eichel @ 50% probably could have got it done

I remember one of my buddies wasn’t interested in trading Lafreniere for Eichel straight up! Cause Lafreniere was “Legit”, and was going to be a high scoring winger for years to come.

Isles magic number to clinch the off-season down to 2.
The only magic numbers that matter at this point...

I wonder if there’s any second guessing going on upstairs at MSG regarding which players were kept and which were traded. Kaako may turn out to be a useful player and now Will Cuylle is a better player than Laf.

The Isles having garnered 5 of their last 6 points are doing their best impression of the NY Jets. They’re winning meaningless end of year games to worsen their draft position. For the Jets in 2021 that led to Zach Wilson instead of Trevor Lawrence.

What's Trevor won? He was 2-8 last year.

Last year was remarkably disappointing for him.

I still believe he’s potentially a top-tier quarterback. It goes to show you how important the supporting cast is, especially the offensive line. His career thus far is starting to remind me of Andrew Luck’s.

At the end of the day, Trevor Lawrence is still a valuable but tarnished commodity and Zack Wilson is a bust.

Ahh, but Zack is now a Dolphin, so there's a lot of upside for us Jet fans!

But, with Tua's injury history, if Zack takes over and performs well . . . oh, the horror!

All things being equal it's better to have a higher pick. But, things like Cuylle being better than Laf is partly why I don't get too upset about draft position. The guys drafted 2-5 are all better than Laf. And also at a quick glance probably as good or better than Laf are the guys drafted 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 34, 45. Not to mention, people could be really happy if they end up at #9 going into the lottery, and then the #10 team wins the lottery....

Two things from last night:

- The Rangers might have to write another letter to the fans. The first one just wasn’t clear enough, I guess.

- Barry the GM went all in on competing and instead nets a top 5 lotto pick. Something tells me his offseason chest thumping wasn’t raising the lotto cup.

How’s Doug Armstrong doing in St. Louis?

I know he’s part of the Trottle hate list

In Throttle’s hockey management woldview you’re either a buttkisser who is simply trying to protect his ass at all times, or a spreadsheet kid who is in tune with a changing game. Give him a cigar chomper any day of the week.
