News from Around the AHL NHL KHL 2024 25

All 5 of these teams chasing the 8 spot stink. Isles rangers habs jackets wings

So lets get in!
Whichever of those teams gets in might have a chance to get out of the East, but there's no way any of them can beat St. Louis in the finals!! :sarcasm:

BTW, if CBJ get in, I wonder if that THREE point swing courtesy of the ref's overreaction the other night will play into things?

Speaking of St. Louis, that offer sheet thing they pulled on EDM to get Holloway and Broberg turned out to be pure genius. Highway robbery. StL got two 23 year old studs for a 2nd and a 3rd pick in this year's (supposedly weak) draft. Wow.

With the cap going up I wouldn't be too surprised if other teams attempted it after seeing the results.

I take it as an example of a proactive GM analyzing a situation and seeing an opportunity to make a smart move. It's why I'd rather roll the dice with a new GM and constant retooling rather than tearing it all down. I keep mentioning Harry Roseman in the NFL as an example of how the right guy as GM can keep a team contending on a regular basis by constantly making moves to maximize assets.

Looks like Montreal lost, Columbus just tied it up though and looks like they going to OT

ETA: Looks like Columbus won in a SO so they overtake us in the standings by 1 point. Thankfully we hold tie breaker advantage over them

Not that we really deserve it, but that Toronto review clusterf*** is huge for the standings right now.

I watched the OT in the Canucks game. Hughes was skating infront of the net and Elvis basically stepped outside the crease(at least his leg) and both fell down. No Penalty was called but it seems like Elvis is a diver.

That was a 3 point swing between us and CBJ. If Palmieri's goal counted we'd have gotten 2 points and CBJ would have gotten 0. Instead, they ended up with 2 more points and we ended up with 1 less point. So yeah, that was a really big call.

You never see anything Islanders in Australia...but son was walking down street in our town this week and saw someone with an Islanders shirt on.
And then daughter just sent me a pic of a car in Perth (capital of Western Australia) with an Islanders fisherman sticker on it.
Freakish.
We may all have to move to Australia soon.

Congrats to Anthony Duclair's younger brother Chris as Hobart takes the 3-peat in D3 with the OT win over Utica!
