If everyone had stayed healthy I doubt Lou would have replaced Aho and Martin. Now we added speed to the 4th line and offense and better zone exits to the defense.

I mentioned this in a previous post, but with the additions of Engvall and Gauthier and the Robidas Island-ing of Martin I think we have gone from one of the league’s slowest teams to one of the fastest. Barzal and Gauthier are legitimate top 5 speed threats and Engvall is probably top 10. We’ve been getting a few breakaways every game lately because one of those three is almost always on the ice and there’s not really a way for most teams to account for that.

I can’t say fastest because we still don’t move the puck quick enough or accurately enough. But Gauthier and Reilly help us add a different element of speed that we didn’t have with Aho and Martin in the lineup.

I like their speed as a tool to help recover from bad situations too. They've been quite effective on the backcheck.

Read somewhere about a week ago that Barzal leads the league in takeaways. Moving him to wing and adding a player that can keep up with him has kind of proven to be all we theory crafted it would be

Clb is hot garbage. Ambivalent owner. Kookalanian or whatever his name is is a terrible GM. JD just runs interference. Johnny Trademark is happy to float around getting paid with no one really paying attention to him.

Why is that BS? He never shot the puck, he was stickhandling and the goalie got a piece of the deke, then Zuccarello shot it. Seems like the correct call to me.
