That's too bad about Loki if the injury is as bad as we think it is. I thought he played well here and definitely made me forget about Ruutu.

This was the first time I saw Lindback play a game:

I think one of the worst goaltending performances I've ever seen.

I've seen worse. But I did notice at the bottom of the screen that Carolina beat Toronto 6-1?? That makes me think this video has been altered and is not authentic.

We always blow out Toronto every season for whatever reason. IIRC, their defense made ours look like 6 norris trophy winners that night.

Yeah, that was literally the worst performance by a group of defensemen that I've seen in the modern NHL. They looked like 6 guys just doing their own thing out there.

Francis: "At the end of the day, we feel Cam Ward is a good goaltender." Said team was better with him on the team.

Trusting in Ward.

With regard to Waddell, on a scale of 1 to ****ed, how ****ed are we? Try to keep hyperbole out of it because I want an honest, even-keeled opinion.

If we're lucky, this move won't hurt us too much.

I'm trying to think of hockey execs with a worse reputation than Waddell. Mike Milbury... um... possibly George McPhee or Bob Pulford... already running out of names that aren't from the 1950s.

My take is on the low end of that spectrum, 1-3 at worst. Keep in mind that the president position has nobody directly reporting to it on the org chart and was set up so that it would only be there to offer advise to Francis when/if he wanted that advice. I doubt the role has changed much, if any, since Rutherford vacated it to become Pittsburgh's GM, so unless Francis is banging on Waddell's door every day for advice, I think Waddell's role will be fairly/extremely limited.

Does this change anything?

Seems to be some misconception out there about Waddell: as President, he will be strictly focused on the business side of the organization.

Wasn't the business side what ****ed up the Thrashers in the first place? Not sure how that's supposed to help.

All that says is that he won't be contributing to the on-ice lineup. Which is nice, but hardly what fans aren't worried about. At least, with regards to Waddell being involved.

They had multiple owners who had major issues with each other.

I am comfortable that there is someone in the area with the resources to buy the team and keep it here, if it came to that. Any idiot can see that when we field a competitive team the support is strong. And if there is any team in worse shape than us, it's the Panthers.

AND... the NHL execs just made stops in KC and Seattle. Quebec City is a diversion. We'll waddle (sic) on over to KC or Seattle if PK can't get his season tickets up.
