Awesome win guys! Sorokin #1 star but the team played well overall.

I do have a question, Can someone explain why Adam Fox gets so many fly-by's? It seemed like he was tee-d up no less than 5-6 times tonight and nobody throws a check....Are we scared of breaking him? Important player for them and hes frail, burying him early could change things later.

So, not only was this a nice victory (thanks to Sorokin!), the replay on NHL.TV didn't have the timeline ending when the game did. The time line showed the game going 2 hours and 50 minutes which made me think the Rags would tie it up. Then as the game progressed I was even more anxious wondering how badly the Isles would melt down to allow the Rags to tie it up. As it got late in the third I saw there was still way too much time on the timeline and then started to suspect it wasn't when the game actually ended. So imagine my relief when I finally realized the Isles wouldn't have a third period meltdown (at the 1:20 mark, haha!!) and would win the game. Great stuff!

Yep, this is another aspect that's making me crazy. But, at least we don't have to assume that there's an OT because of a long timeline.

Makes things less predictable when taking in a replay.

Question:
As I only saw the highlights and noticed the Palmieri goal off the little tap pass from Pageau...

Did Palms and JP play together the whole night? Were they on the same line?

Yes, they skated together all night from what I remember. Lines were:
Bailey Barzal Wahstrom
Lee Nelson Beau
Parise JPG Palmeiri
the 4th line

Yes. 11-44-21 were together from the start of the game and looked cohesive. They created several offensive chances for Palmieri.

he did make a nice little touch pass on one of Palmieri's goals
For me it's the decision making + the passing, not just the passing. A soft touch pass across the low slot in a scramble is fine. A soft cross-ice pass near the blueline is not fine. Low percentage passes in different areas of the ice are not equally bad.

What Barzal & Pageau do differently on their half-board curls, and cross-ice passes to D is that Barzal (when he's not in a slump) shifts his feet towards his target, and makes a firm pass. Pageau has not been doing that.

Also was thrilled with Nelson looking like he gives a damn. Badmouthed him, whilst others were ripping Bailey and Palms here...those were the guys most effective. They must have read our comments, lol.
Palmieri knocked in a couple of goals in the slot, but it's not like he's been good?

My hope is that, as is often the case in baseball, the vets just take a little while to get going. I've always liked Pageau for the intangibles he brings. Hopefully he'll be OK

Go Phillies!

I hope the referees don’t read my comments, or else imma have to go into the witness protection program
