I really could see a trade with the Ducks making sense. We have Fowler who could be a lateral move to shake up the roster and we can take a LOT of salary back. I'd even argue we could probably take Trouba, and there are a lot of Hospitals in CA his wife could eventually look into.
Why is Trouba's wife even a consideration? I mean yeah I know what he wants. But he's got a 15 team no trade clause, he can be sent anywhere else. Drury wont be jerked around again on this

Miller to Pitt for Marcus Petterson. A good move for both teams. Pitt is most likely done tis or next year. NY needs stability on D, Petey does that. Miller was promising but not taking the next step they'd hope for.

Kakko is almost the player you would expect but will probably be moved and blossom, which sucks

Why Rempe in the not available group? His schtick won't work anymore. Its 4-9 min a night and the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Yeah, he's a fan fav but that does not win games. should have worked on his game not his fighting with Laraques.

He's one of those posters that wants multiple fighters on the team, not that Rempe is good at it.

I don't believe the fault lies with the players. The history of Laviolette shows that when he is hired, his teams play very well for the first few years. After that, his teams go flat and he gets fired.

I mean, that is what happens to most coaches. Its why they are usually fired after a few years.

Players the rangers most likely look to trade are.

Lindgren
Miller
Trouba
Kreider
Panarin
Zib (But that aint happening)

the rangers have all 3 retention spots available. So a trouba @4m looks a lot better than 8. Kreider at $3m would look amazing. Etc.

Trocheck probably could be had, but i am not sure they actively shop him.

I dont think Drury is actively shopping any of the kids, so most likely it would be a serious payment to get any. yes, even Kakko who actually has looked really good this year.

Another wildcard at the deadline could be shesty. That would be interesting to say the least.

The Canucks were apparently interested in Schneider before, but Rangers said 'no'. Has anything changed?
He's been one of the better players on the backend, especially at not having to be pinned in his own end. I'd say no unless the offer was too good to pass up. He's still young and not hurting the cap. If they blow it up I'm sure he'd be given a bigger role. But I suppose anything is possible because I wouldn't say he's untouchable.

Rangers have retained Luca Brasi as special asst to the GM specializing in contractual waivers:

1. Kreider / Trouba 2.5 retained to BUF for Samuelson / Greenway and a 2nd

2. Lindgren and a 6th to CAL for a 2nd

3. Mika to Det for Copp/Holl.

4. R Smith 50% retained (1.875 mm) to TBL for Sheary and a 2nd

Done and done.

Sens would make a lot of sense since Staois is looking to put his stamp on the team and the tires are spinning this season.

Something around Zibanejad for Norris seems too desperate from Ottawa given how well JN has bounced back but it also kinda makes sense at face value if the goal is to shake both teams up.

More likely names the Sens would be sniffing around are Kakko, Miller and Lindgren. Sens also have a little bit of cap space with Zub on LTIR so a trade may not necessarily need to be money in/money out. Although flipping out a guy like Amadio might be nice since he's done nothing here.

Because for some reason NYR aren't allowed to trade players or it might piss off the locker room, media, and whoever else isn't happy with it. That whole situation with Trouba and Drury in the offseason had a lot of rumors. I don't think we're going to fully know what took place.

I had my doubts on what Lav would be able to do with this team after the first year. But at some point, I think you have to start blaming the players on the rink. When you go through that many coaches in a short period of time, regardless if they weren't a fit, I think you have to start looking at the team on the ice and realizing that the effort isn't there. These players can make or break a coach just as easily as a structure from a coach can be a bad fit for a team

I really don't want that guy back. He's the type that gives up backbreakers when the game is on the line. If we were really in a rebuild, he would turn into prime Dominik Hasek and F that up too.

He has a full NTC I thought?
No it's 15 team NTC. But if you have any team that can afford him on it, it may as well be a full NMC.
