Richards is so frustrating. He's had some killer puck luck recently, but everything he does hurts the team.
I hate to make a reference in another sport, but when you have somebody like Mark Teixeira on the Yankees, his offense sucks for the most part, but his defense is what he's out there. In hockey, you can probably make the reference to McDonagh. McDonagh's offense is nearly non-existent, but he at least brings killer defense. If you look at Gaborik, his defense was non-existent, but when he scored, his lack of defense didn't really matter. Richards has no offense, and is terrible in the defensive zone. He hurts the team by his very presence on the ice.
You just pray we get another crazy carom like we did in the first period with a player actually being there to shoot at the open net. We gotta get our heads out of our rear, grab the game by the you know whats, and create a clinching opportunity at home.
When the Rangers are good, they're good, but when they're bad, they're painful to watch. You just gotta pray something goes right...
