Missing a whopping five games shouldn't throw a player that off.
I don't know why everyone is just ruling out the fact he might just be playing poorly.
As if McDonagh is immune to poor play. Everyone is saying its his injury to reassure themselves that he just cannot be possibly playing this poorly.
It's possible he is hurting, or he is in a genuine slump, or a combination of both.
But his hockey IQ has not been there. Too many brain dead plays for a mild shoulder sprain. And that's all it can be. If it was anything serious like a significant tear in the labrum/rotator cuff he would be an idiot to be playing.
You don't think it's any coincidence that McD hasn't looked like the McD we know since that injury?
