Both teams are bubble teams. The Rangers took advantage of what happens to bubble teams. Some nights they’re good. Some nights they’re great. Some nights they suck.

Bubble team is very vague in the no tie point system.

The Rangers had a horrific start, but they owned the Canes tonight, and they've look great for almost all of November.

No reason not to. It’s perfectly possible to feel good about a bubble team. One of my favorite Rangers seasons in the last 25 years was 2010-11. I’d probably rank it in the top 5. (93-94, 13-14 are definitely ahead. Then it’s close between 96-97, 05-06, 10-11, 11-12, and 14-15).

The Rangers are playing entertaining hockey and getting wins right now. What’s not to like?

Smith, Holden, Kampfer, Carey all played well. Smith was expected to be good but the other three were very noticeable today and actually solid all season. Kampfer is better than the guy who the Rangers found a couple years back, surprisingly was good, and ended up on the Leafs top pairing for a while.

Canes were 5-1-1 in their last 7 coming into this one, they were playing some good hockey.

Even if they were Arizona bad, when was the last time we saw the Rangers basically control a game from start to finish like that one?

Was pretty sure it was over mentally for the Canes when the Rangers scored so quickly in the 3rd, but you knew they were done when they couldn’t score on the PP that came right after.

For now we are a "bubble team".....agreed. I think it's temporary tho.

Slowly but surely we are showing our true colors.

I don't think it will be easy....not at all. And unlike last year when we coasted the last 2 months as we had pretty much already locked up the #1 WC, I think we'll come down to the final few weeks before we know our fate.

But when all is said and done, I feel confident and think we'll end up as the 3 seed in the Metro behind Pens and Jackets but ahead of the Devils,Caps and any of the others supposed bubble teams.

Defense was very good, Henke was aggressive and overall outstanding, and the sustained effort was a sight for sore eyes.

Yeah, it's not often you talk about your goaltender after dishing out a beating like that, but even Hank got his kicks at the can. Total complete effort.

I dunno about true colors, the 6 game win streak was really smoke and mirrors driven by Hank and the PP. Hell even the game on Sunday was more about the team being less horrible than Ottawa.

More games like this one? Then I'll be a believer.
