From my recollection, I don't believe renney's 2008 offense was this bad.
You're kidding, right? Why do you think we weren't signing any secondary scorers? This is not that difficult. This team was banking on Kreider providing our secondary scoring. I don't even know how anyone could actually disagree on that, since it's a fact. His poor play has caused a ton of problems for this team, since we have had to resort to plugging Miller into his role, playing Boyle more, etc. His poor play has caused so many problems it's not even funny. We have ZERO secondary scoring.
Again, a lot of that blame can go to Sather for not hedging his bet properly. But that's hindsight at this point.
Sather was BANKING on Kreider putting up .50 PPG this season.
I have to wonder, though, how much better they would be if they had a consistently good player like Kreider with them. It's obvious that Richards doesn't mesh with Nash and that Stepan does. But it's just as obvious that Callahan is not a top 6 player.
I don't know. A lot of the blame goes to Gabby and Richards. I agree. Just trying to wrap my head around all of it.
They couldn't get a shot at the free clinic tonight

The whole year Kreider has not been put in a position to provide that secondary scoring. He's never on the pp, he gets put with awful linemates, he gets randomly benched for no reasons often, when he makes the smallest mistake he gets benched. You can't say you know how he would produce if given consistent playing time in an offensive position because that hasn't come close to happening all year
Here comes the chanting. Well deserved, losers.
Garbage. Kreider has been jerked around by Torts the genius. You can't score from the bench. Torts' pets Richards and Boyle have contributed zilch. Add in Gabby and you have what we have.
I've seen you post twice and both have provided me with a hearty lol. Thank you.
Thank god we have TortsThe problem is that he hasn't done a single thing to earn it. Let's be honest here. He was not very good in Hartford. Sure, we can blame the linemates there. He's a very flawed player. He has amazing physical attributes, but he's not the smartest player and he clearly cannot create offense by himself.
Sather bet on him to provide this offense. He is more to blame for any of it than Kreider. I'm not really putting huge amounts of blame on Kreider, but just pointing out that he clearly failed to provide the offense our GM thought he would.
Oh awesome, the Caps came back to tie it and go to OT, the night keeps getting better and better.
