They will look better live on ice, they are basic but they will look bold and sharp. Only lacing on the jersey would be look more authentic.

The white stripe on the bottom could do without, perhaps the white on the shoulder as well.

My initial reaction wasn't good. Upon further looks, its not THAT bad (certainly better than their last black one), but still not good. Definitely don't like the stripes on the arm and the logo looks too fat and short. I agree that there should be something with the bridge on there. No question.

Should the following teams also have the logo patches of the cities where they play?

Arizona - Glendale, AZ
NY Rangers - Manhattan, NY

Carolina - Raleigh, NC
New Jersey, Newark, NJ
Minnesota - St. Paul, MN

I'd bet anything you want that the Islanders will have some sort of logo or patch for Brooklyn. Argue it and disagree with it all you like.

Boston is fine. Pittsburgh is fine when they sport Steeler gold instead of faded pissed on snow yellow. The kings were good with the Gretzky-era black and silvers. The Canucks' Halloween skate looked decent on black.

Brooklyns colors are Orange Blue and.. WHITE. This is seriously such a freaking joke.

No self respecting Islanders fan, like a real New York Islanders fan, not one that will be created this October, would ever buy this. These colors have zero significance to me or the Islanders. This jersey can't be objectively considered bad, it's a simple and classic design. You guys can keep hating on the black and white color scheme and the thin stripes all you want, doesn't change the fact that this uniform is gorgeous.
