Yeah that hit was a fat load of trash.

Like I've said before, I'm a Packers guy with some really tenuous Redskin ties who mostly just visits this thread because it's the NFL variant of the NHL people I like, but I watched that happen and got so goddamn mad I was wishing they had college style ejection rules for how bad that hit was.

I'm also kind of just adopting them as my "fresh start" east coast team since Snyder's gone and it's interesting since we used to go to the camps forever ago and I might as well.

It’s a crap rule, and it overly penalizes the offense.

Offense had possession before the ball goes out of bounds. So like anywhere on the field, the offense should keep the ball. Placed at the 1yrd line. As they do for a bunch of calls.

The defense didn’t earn the ball. At all. No more than they did at the 50 or 40 or 10.

It’s a crap rule.

You bringing up the 1yd spot had me thinking about that, too.

If an O takes a 15yd penalty of some kind inside their own 5 they don't consider the spot to be OB since it would be beyond the back boundary of the EZ. The ball isn't turned over, either. Instead, based on where it should have been placed (OB), they set the rule to spot the ball at the 1yd line.

So there's precedent for the offense LOS being put OB in the EZ and then getting a spot instead.

I mean ultimately it's just a bunch of made up shit anyway, but we try to throw some logic in there.

9 defensive players to that side, nobody touched the RB

Their dude in the FB role played it perfectly so on that particular play in a vacuum I just tip my hat, but looks like they plan on running outside all day. Better figure something out.

Competent teams don't have any trouble planning around the DL to neutralize them or even take advantage of whatever holes they create. It's a common, nonstop thing.

Front 7 was absolutely manhandled. Paper tigers when they aren’t playing a QB signed at the last moment.

And I’m not terribly impressed by Bienemy so far. Not particularly creative. It’s one thing when all your guys are better than their guys.
