Not sure if you guys remember this group from the 90's, Toad the Wet Sprocket saw them live twice in NY last month, great band, very underrated, they are from California, Santa Barbara area I believe, but anyway check out the Drummer's T-shirt! Oh yeah! This is their new song..

Just back from Paris. We had a wonderful time. The city was not too crowded due to Covid resulting in fewer tourists. Apparently the Chinese and Japanese are not traveling in any numbers right now, and the Americans are only just coming back. The only crowded museum that we visited was the Louvre, with a very long line to see the Mona Lisa if you care for that picture. I don't, and I have seen it before, so we skipped the one hour line to get close. The French full vaccination rate is over 75%, so we felt quite safe. The vaccine passport system (Pass Sanitaire) worked easily. A guy would check our mobile phones when we went into a museum or restaurant and when is reader flashed green, in we went. It took about 15 extra seconds at most. Now, if only someone here could make decent croissants here I would be happier. I believe that it is either the water or the flour that is different, but if someone can direct me somewhere with real French style ones I would appreciate it.

Yep, traveling around Europe is mostly resuming, spent 33 days between Denmark, Norway and Spain in Sep and Oct. I played with the idea of going to Canada but the flights were somewhat very expensive compared to the norm, I guess the sudden opening in Sep inflated the prices. As for the US... I better change passport or I'll never come back lol

Just a random observation but as Hazy has started to feel like a more of a homer lately (which is fine) I realized I quite liked the Oilers feed when the Ducks played them. Very neutral, wasn't expecting that and a lot of praise to opposing teams as well. Never paid too much attention (at least in a positive way) to the announcers but this time I was left with a good impression. Maybe will tune in again the next time the Ducks play the Oil.

Made it into Canada and gotta say that border crossing was way easier than pre-covid. Gave all my paperwork, guy asked where I'm from and where I'm going and then waved me in. I was preparing for a full body and vehicle search.

Anyone play adult league at Yorba Linda rinks? Looking to hop in on the next season but wanted to see if anyone thinks it’s worth it over there.

Matrix Resurrections starts strong and… didn’t need to be remade. Neither did the end credits song. No spoilers, but I’m glad I didn’t pay money to see it.

I really liked the original and based on the trailer I decided I won't ruin the memory of that. Thanks for confirming!

I couldn't watch it sober. My drunken takeaway was that they retconned everything that happened in the original. Complete bastardization.

I enjoyed the first 30 minutes or so because it made sense and seemed to be setting up something far better than what actually happened. Neil Patrick Harris was the highlight for me. It seemed like they didn’t actually have a script writer for the last 2/3 of the movie.

The after credit scene was the best part of the film, I actually thought that was pretty funny.

Might have already been posted at some point, so sorry if I missed it..

wife and I watched a hockey movie 'Odd man rush' last light. We both liked it, although the ending was a little abrupt. I think it's on Netflix, and it's about a yr old.

not a ton of actual hockey action, but lots of young-ish hockey culture in there that we felt was pretty funny/realistic.

HF boards is trolling me by emailing me a newsletter promoting a podcast that asks Mike Perez (who the hell is he?) why he is a Kings fan and not a Ducks fan. Unsubscribe and mark as junk.

Don't watch if you don't want incredible euro trash faux hair metal ear worm about cocaine stuck in your brain for the next 6 days ...

James Gunn has great feel for music tone for his projects.

Was thinking to leave it until morning to see what the damage has been so far with the blizzard but went now anyway. Ended up spending about 1.5 hours digging up the car from the snow and I believe about a metric ton of snow was moved. First time getting my heart rate properly up since the covids too. Pretty exhausting.
