F****** Pheasants!
I got so excited when I read the first sentence of the OP. Then I saw the lines and threw up in my mouth a little. Lindy, come on man.
Ruff has gone senile my god those lines are the worst assemblage of lines I've ever seen in NHL history

LEOPOLD IS BENCHED!! YAY!! FINALLY!!
Seems like this very positive factoid has largely been ignored. Say what you will about the forwards, but this change was long overdue.
I don't understand why Gerbe is still on the PP. He's looked terrible on that unit.
pp2 is gerbe-hecht-ott? is that right?
Yeah...I like his puck retrieval skills but beyond that...I hate his shot selection, and really hate him shooting when Myers or Ehrhoff are open to let fly their blasts.

Questionable at entries, passing has been off, questionable shot selection. I agree. He does a pretty good job at battling for pucks as has been mentioned below, but that doesn't make him worthy. Foligno, Ott, even Hecht and Kaleta can do that. I understand Staff's being sent a message, but he should be on that 2nd unit over Gerbe.
I've already commented on the Kaleta-Staff swap. I'm fine with the Ehrhoff 'demotion'. The reason is obvious, and it's to get something on the 2nd unit going. Brennan is finally getting a legitimate chance to show his possible worth on the PP. I like these decisions as something to evaluate + try and kickstart the units. I commented last game that the Ehrhoff slap pass to Vanek deflection is a beautiful combo that I want to see more of, but I'll gladly put that on hold if Brennan can do a good job and Ehrhoff and make ANYTHING happen on the 2nd unit.
I'd say the priority should be getting something going on the first unit.

Hence,
Hodgson off (0 PP points)
Stafford off (1 PP assist)
Ehrhoff off (0 PP goals)
That's reasonable, but there's no reason to think Brennan can't succeed in that spot. If he can't then they need to get rid of him quickly. The time to evaluate that is now, before they're forced to move someone.

Given his lack of ability to even hit the net so far this year, I'm skeptical.
But if they want to give him one last look to see where he's at, fine.

Well, he's only 10 so he hasn't seen a lot of NHL history. Plus he has a flair for the dramatic.
