Liljegren and Tavares need to be off PP1

*both shoot the puck into bodies way too often and lack vision... and they both look like rock-headed caveman lol which is even more disturbing than the whole powerplay thing in a weird way

Our coverage has been ass too. Woll hasn’t been good. But we are watching guys just collapsing aimlessly around the net.

Meanwhile Allen has stood on his head at the other end

We definitely don’t have a goaltender and that’s scary as hell

Watching the game via boxscore I see... This team system is the one letting them down, they are garbage in there own end. Multiple breakdowns and odd man rushes leading to goals..

On the 4th goal, you collapse 5 men to the front of the net, and somehow there's still a open Devils player on his own in front.

Always the goaltending with you, as if you have no clue at all what’s happening on the ice. Like seriously, you’ve made it clear many times, you just don’t understand this game at all.

When is the last time this team had a power play in the middle of a period?
One where it wasn't dissected by an intermission?

It's been baffling the recent games where they only get calls with less than 2 minutes left in the periods.

Bingo.

Top down the organizational messaging over the past number of years has been “belief and betting on skill”. Which really just translates to a feeling of superiority based on natural ability with only lip service paid to work ethic, process and structure.

This team is capable of amazing things any given night but it’s not their natural level and not the standard they hold themselves to.

2nd-4th goals are just awful coverage/pinches. 2 on 1, down low pass, and a rebound from a pile. You'd love to get one save, but got to be tighter there

as for the other shots, idk who got the shot but the heat map on moneypuck shows a decent amount of slot shots

I think there are one too many players who are being a bit more aggressive as they want to show what they can do and stay in the lineups. Esp on D and that’s why you see all these awful pinches.
Let’s face it, I think Reilly, McCabe, Edmundson and Boosh as well as TJ are locks for the playoffs. Timmins, Benoit and Lilly are fighting for that last spot and Lilly got the inside track for now.

The amount of odd man rushes and clean breaks this team gives up is staggering at times.

I generally pencil them in for one no show game a week, and if I’m personally looking at the competition like “who cares?” I’m willing to bet the team will kind of just wing it too. Their standard isn’t that high.

The Leafs are outshooting NJ 36-20

OnE guy is off his game tonight The rest of the team has been solid.

It's what happens when your system is all about being aggressive and overloading a side, once a play misses an assignment the other team is off to the races.
