I just wish we could see some damn goals. Losing all of these games is bad enough. But they're playing pretty well defensively, and getting good offensive pressure yet just can't score. There's little to keep any confidence up because of that. Especially if the first goal goes the other way like tonight. I can see this team breaking through one game for like 3, especially if its in a win, and then righting the ship offensively. Definitely can see them coming in bunches for a bit. But they need to break through a bit first, and maybe win a damn game, for that to happen.

There may not be any elite level forwards in this years UFA. However there are solid top 6 guys like Ribiero/Horton/Weiss that could improve our team

I wonder where all the people are that said during the summer after we lost Parise, "We'll be fine. Henrique will offset some of Zach's offense. A full season of Zajac will help a lot. The 4th line is good for a lot of goals. Tedenby will finally break out."

LOL yea that all worked out real well. Lou needs to stop with the horse**** reclamation projects and actually sign players who can do something this time around. Lokti has been the only one that worked out.

Every pick up Lou made this season was a reclamation project. I'm not a GM and I don't know how the trade market looked like (probably bad for NJ), but I'm sick and tired of the reclamation projects too. I think we better hope to god that Lou can make a solid pick up at forward next season, someone that won't have to turn their career around for once.

And I'm baffled by those that say we need to get rid of Zidlicky. That's preposterous - he is the only defenseman on this team with an ounce of offensive flare. The team needs to be retooled considerably in the offseason, they need an infusion of talent, I just hope Lou can actually improve the team this time around

Miller will have an easy time with this offense. When POS Reimer looks like a Vezina front runner against this team then what do you think Miller will do?

Turned the game off after the Leafs made it 2-0, couldn't bare to watch the rest.

Surprised to see they actually managed to score a goal after I turned it off. Nice job Clarkie.

I'm really ****ing pissed.

Lou did a horrific job setting this team up to win. I'm ****ing sick and tired of hearing "next year, next season, next next next next". NO. There is no "next". Arguably the greatest goaltender to ever play the game is 40 ****ing years old. You try and win for him NOW. They wasted another year of Marty's career, and I'm really ****ing angry about it. This forward group....they're just not good enough. I like the depth, but there are guys who have been absolute no-shows forever. Travis Zajac, I don't know what happened to him, but he has looked like a bottom six player all year. Alex Ponikarovsky has been a huge bust, I thought he would rekindle the same magic he had last season, boy was I wrong. He plays uninspired hockey, lazy, almost like he couldn't possibly care less. D'Agostini is another bottom six'er playing on one of the top lines, he just isn't good enough. I liked Steve Sullivan's game, but he is going to be used in a "go to" role and he, again, just isn't ****ing good enough.

The D played an outstanding game, and Marty stopped what he should have, but this team is allergic to goal scoring and the worst part is we all saw it coming. They lost a superstar when Zach Parise decided to "go home", and Petr Sykora, who had good chemistry with Elias and contributed 20 goals, was let go for virtually no reason which did nothing but make NJ's offensive woes even worse. What a waste, Marty's second to last season ever, and he's going to miss the playoffs. That's two of the last three years now.

They just aren't good enough.

Lou has one offseason to make big, short-term moves. Gotta put it all on the line to try and get Marty one more Cup. After that, I don't care if they have to blow it up and start from scratch.

Our team could use exactly guys like that. No one is saying a player like Parise or another Kovalchuk. We won't find them but we WILL find guys like that. If not then Lou's time is up. He can't accept mediocrity next year. Mediocrity or worse is gonna get us a nice top 15 pick flushed down the commode. When he can give contracts to old turds like Salvador then I can't see how broke we are.

The whole defense is ass at moving the puck except Zidlicky and Harrold. But Zidlicky was bad tonight but at least he makes some sort of attack during the games.

Volchenkov every time he gets the puck passes it outside the blueline and makes the play offside or he shoots the weakest shot possible.
Salvador's shot always gets blocked and he can't pass for ****.

Zajac I really thought he was coming back a few weeks ago but I guess not.

Yup its beyond frustrating. All the people that say "You dont win cups in July and just throwing money around at UFA's doesnt work", well that might be true to a degree but how many times does signing bargain basement slop work? Horton and Weiss would be nice. God I cant believe I'm gonna have to start looking at UFA list pretty soon. Thats depressing

You must have been lurking a lot before you posted, that's pretty accurate point-for-point of the rationalization that some people actually thought we were a better team after the 8-1-3 start

There was no way Lou could have seen that Elias, Zajac, and Clarkson would all go in the tank at the same time. It's mind boggling to me how poorly all three of them have played the last 25 games. If they were playing like themselves I don't think we'd be complaining about needing another scorer. I'm not saying this team as constructed is a contender, but they have enough talent up front to score a lot more than they are.

The problem, as others have said, is that nobody wants to step up and lead. Things go wrong and nobody says or does anything. Do you think Scott Stevens as a player would have put up with this ****? He would have thrown a skate at somebody by now. Outside of Kovy I just don't see anybody who has that kind of fire on this team. Say what you want to about Parise, but the guy busted his ass every night and hated to lose. I just don't see enough of that in this team right now.

I hope a lot of people with season tickets used their credit towards next years tickets and not the playoffs. If they didn't that will be a lot of money not being used for a very long time.

lol I was just making a different comment to another sth at the game in that vein, saying I might as well have used the credit for the playoffs since that's all I'm getting back for it anyway.

And even when Clarkson finally scores a goal, he still manages to be annoying. Like that chance he got minutes later where he had a step on the defenseman and instead of using his body and driving to the net, he takes another off-balance floating shot from just inside the blueline

Suck enough to get a top 10 pick.
Sign Horton and Weiss as forwards.
Trade 2 of Sal/Volch/Tallinder (I would keep Zid cause he is our only offensive threat on D)
Re-sign Zubie/Elias/Henrique/Lokti/Clarkson (If Clarkson is cheaper then 4 mil)
