Holtz will still be sent to Utica, while Geertsen plays on opening night.

Well..... Probably not.

I'm just kidding.

Kind of.

They said this is the most entertaining period of the preseason for Boston? Really?

I didn't think the Bruins really did much in the way of entertaining that period....

Hughes gonna score 90+ pts if he stays healthy

simply insane how good he is and he may score 40 goals on top of it

imagine if we had a decent PP

Bit of a fire wagon period, but on our side Blackwood created a few of those moments off some weird flubs. I thought Blackwood looked fine outside of that, like on actual shots, just a few dribblers that he didn't control for some reason.

Hughes is fun, Holtz is good.

Fair enough.

Still a little too early to say, but I was one of the people on here early on saying ''Be careful what you wish for in firing Recchi, as I'm skeptical that Ruff isn't also a problem. He has the final say''.

Especially with all the weird answers every time he was called out where his answer was always ''Subban. We gotta get more out of him. He has the ability. Did you see how good he used to be years ago? We ned to use him more!''.

Either way, the end of Lindy is nigh. Which makes me think Brunette's job as PP coach might be over not much later than it started.

Although, if my theory is correct, Brunette would still have a lot to do with the PP, if Ruff indeed does right now.

Recchi needed to go because a) f*** that guy b) he had two seasons here.

I don’t expect the PP to immediately be magically fantastic (or cohesive), it’s the f***ing preseason.

Recchi was the PP guy. He was. That was his job description. He didn’t cause all of the problems it had obviously but I have zero problem with him getting the heave ho and I don’t see how anyone could think that was a mistake.

Either you want Recchi here now or you don’t. I don’t.

I never called for him to be fired mid-season (with Ruff still here) because Assistants don’t get fired mid-season unless the HC goes. So that was some wishful thinking/ delusion on some people’s part.

I don't really want either of them here.

We've also only had one game with 4+ goals given up since Nas left.

This is absolutely unacceptable.

There is ZERO advantage to doing that....unless you want to give the advantage to the opposing team.
Literally everybody does it and for a reason. It absolutely does something to. You’re pushing them back as close to their line as possible and then dropping it back to your most skilled players skating with speed at them flat footed.

Not hard to see why it’s so popular.
And as you saw there it works well if done well.

New Jersey(No Fanz!)
Or maybe it’s literally the powerplay breakout used by like 90% of the league because it works if you have skilled players who do it well.
Which it did that period.
All i see is it gives the opposing team the opportunity to get set in their positions and deny entry.

Sure a few Devils like Jack and Bratt get through but it's still more difficult than it needs to be instead of putting the Bruins on their heels/skates by skating right at them from the get-go...
