I hope not. I could see them holding onto the Kremlin Kone until next Summer then buying him out. That's a call JVB will have to make over Lou though since he's the one paying him.

Oh god I hope not either, this is just my sit pat, do nothing piss me off scenario. My blow it up avvy is an attempt at a bit of laughter during tough times. I don't want the team blown up but there are some serious holes. I really don't mind keeping Tally it's just he's the most movable guy. I really want to see a real first line next year to bump the Tardsons of the word back to 3rd line minutes.

.666 isn't 2/3 by that logic either. It's 333/500

Holy ****, can you not get a simple concept?

.666 IS NOT 2/3.

2/3 IS .666 with the 6 repeating forever.

THEREFORE, 2/3 IS A PRETTY FUNNY SIGN IN THIS INSTANCE, GIVEN ITS THE DEVILS NUMBER REPEATED FOREVER.

If you really just want to keep going with this foolish argument until you're deemed correct, let me know and i'll do just that because this is pretty stupid.

Well lose to the Flyers on Thursday, and the oilers win their game in hand, and we're 7th worst in the league. One step closer.

Honestly, I wouldn't even play brodeur in those 2 Rangers games. They'll be meaningless games, and that crowd is just gonna hammer him mercilessly. What's the point.

ideal situation: knock the rangers out of the playoffs on the last day and still win the lottery to get the #1 pick and win the cup next year

I've lost this one before too.

Don't argue with math. It's like doing taxes. Logic bends like a hockey stick during a slapshot at some point and I hate them both.

Speaking of 2 dolt enforcers I could easily see Pete having a goonfest with these last two Rangers games especially if we're eliminated. With the AHL season ending the week before I could see Janssen up too.:help:

If Pete would play the goons as frequently during most seasons as he has these last 20 games we'd be better off. Hopefully though he don't change his mind since we haven't done anything with them out of the lineup anyway.

And yours is a valid point. One has to wonder that by not having Janssen in the line-up, despite his limited skill set, may just have given us the energy and/or the proper distraction to the other team to allow us to win a few games.

Overall, none of us really knows. What we do know is Lou assembled a team that has more AHL talent than NHL talent. Bringing back players instead of using the kids up in Albany & giving them a true shot (not a game or two & back to Albany you go) has proven fruitless.

And we all have to be honest with ourselves on this; the Devils are out of playoff contention. I don't care how you spin it, they are undeserving to be even considered for a playoff spot after this abortion of a season.

I sincerely hope Petey D. dresses up a goon team for here on out. I want to be entertained, YET...continue to lose & get that high draft pick as this season is OVER!!!

To watch them give 100% & keep losing...ugh. :shakehead

NJ has a great system in place. I think the Devils might have won the last 6 or 7 games if they had someone to put the puck in the net like Kovalchuk can.

Problem with the Devils in these games is that Elias, Henrique and Zajac all haven't played good for a while and despite having the puck for most of the game they struggle to get the quality shots in front of other goalies.

Kovalchuk would definitely have made a difference last night if he was playing.

You beat me to it. I'm not really happy with Conte. People suggest he should or could be GM once Lou goes out. That frightens me a lot.

I'm not sure if the scouts should be taking all of the blame here. I don't have much faith in the development of our prospects anymore.

you mean that PP goal that snuck through his arm and body with a guy standing right in front of him and one of the league's top 10 scorers shooting from 25 feet away with all the time in the world?

There's a reason powerplays score at three times the average shooting % for a team... I wonder what it could be.

1.01 GAA, .917 SV% last night.
Marty's fault.

Devils PP - 0 for 5. 32 shots, 0 goals. 0.00 shooting %
Just bad luck.

I bet you Reimer stops that shot last night.

Why is it so hard for people to fathom the idea that both the offense AND the goaltending is weak?

It'll be refreshing when Marty retires and we can blame the new goalie for every loss. Then we'll hear things like "Well Marty would have gotten that one." :sarcasm:

I agree with both points.

The offense, defense and goaltending has not been good.
Zidlicky getting caught flat footed yet again which led to an unneccesary penalty.
Travis loses the faceoff, Marty lets in a shot that your goalie has to make late in a tie game.
Goalies are always screened on the PP, we screened Reimer all night and he made the stops.

If Reimer and Marty were switched last night, what do you guys think the score would have been?

Same...What the heck would the difference be when the Devils can't score?

If you're team is leaving your goaltender a 1 goal margin how in the world can you look at the tender and question his play?

I can't imagine anyone thinking Reimer was spectacular outside of the greater Toronto area.

The Devils piled up a ton of useless shots just like they do every night and had their usual snakebitten 3 or 4 chances...This game or any of the last 15 or 20 didn't come down to the play of one person or position, it never does.

When most of the games are 1-0, 2-1, 2-0, kinda hard to blame the goalie equally as much as the offense, yet Devil fans manage to blame Marty 'more' than the pathetic offense.

Good thing the two games vs the Rags are away at MSG.

It would be tough to stomach them at The Rock, we would really see 50/50 in the stands for a home game for the first time since the early 80's.
