I am not sure why that happened either. Honestly, this was a good game to watch and I am glad the Flyers got two points...I couldn't believe what I saw when Elias missed the net.

As far as that hit, I still think it was clean...cleaner than the Carter/Rinaldo play, that is for sure. Either way, good luck in the playoffs because I am still not convinced the Flyers make it and I am positive the Devils will.

Jumping and going for the head after skating from the blue line with no will to play the puck. Yes... so very clean. Not saying the Carter trip was clean, it was most definitly not clean, but neither was this hit.

Thanks, but I'm not positive we will. Questionable goaltending (Which wasn't the problem tonight aside from the shootout) with no return for Brodeur in sight. non existent PP, 2 line team without Loktionov, defensemen controversy. Management's BS decision to carry 8 defensemen like we're still a defensive team. Hey Lou how are those 8 D men working out for you?

Marty is Day-to-Day and practicing. No end in sight?! 2 Line team? Tonight sure, thats what happens when physcially you lose a player, tomorrow call ups or a replacement will happen and they will move on. Defensemen controversy? Where, they all seem to be accepting that they are rotating based on play, and have improved their team play as well. Someones reaching for a reason to be afraid.

Alright I guess you're someone who gets mad if I criticize Lou. How often have we scored 3 goals in the last month?

The PP is a joke too. I want someone to defend this POS Shaw. Fire him, and don't hire anybody. Let Pete coach it. How much worse can it be?

Peter Harrold played forward last year in the playoffs, I dont mind him player there.
Harrold was paired with Volchenkov, he never played forward in the playoffs. Our offensive group was intact for the entire playoffs, I believe Carter or Bernier was the only one who missed one game in the Flyer series and Sestito stepped in.

Not at all. I agree, we should not be carrying 8 Dmen. I think the handling of goaltending so far has been terrible.

But right now, after playing MUCH better the past week you are freaking out about nothing. And the whole fire Shaw calling? Is our PP failing to score goals, sure. But I dont see how anyone can blame it purely on the system when we spend over a minute purely trying to enter the zone because we cant make a pass. I dont see the coaches out there making the passes, no thats the players. Not to mention when we do set up the vast majority of our shots are missing the net and being cleared. Again, I dont see Shaw out there on the ice during games taking those shots, its on the players to execute.

By the way, we have a 2.5 goals per game average in March. The issue is we also have a 3.125 goals against. Are we down a little on scoring, sure, but scoring 3 goals certainly didnt help us beat Carolina when we gave up 6 goals.

Marty's been day-to-day for weeks. And I don't think he's actually practicing, just skating. A little bit of a difference. When he gets back to taking shots in practice then he's day-to-day imo. Even him coming back isn't a magic salve since he's almost sure to be rusty (though I figured he'd be rusty at the start of the season too and he seemed to come back with no problem off the long layoff).

He was not day-to-day earlier this week, he has been promoted ot that status from lou and Pete this week. So yes, he is improving.

Are you including the shootout winners in those goals? I have not much confidence in this team. We've had one dominant game in the last month, and it was against the Flyers on Wednesday. The Jets game wasn't too bad either. We've lost to teams that we should be beating like the Lightning. Now we're really gonna see what this team is made of against Montreal. I disagree on Shaw. He should be accountable. I never said fire him, and find a new PP coach. I said we don't need a PP coach if it's gonna be bottom 10 anyway.

I was not including SO winners....

I think we outplayed Winnipeg, Philly both today and last game. And even many of our previous games during the losing streak we played well, but would suffer in a single area of our game costing us the game. And as I said previously, this team has a nack for playing down to their level of competition. I think we will benefit from playing better competition.

And I never said we had to hire another PP coach... and in fact I have no problem keeping Shaw. We have had what, 3 actual practices and a mini training camp? No way are we going to implement a new PP system, especially when your main PP threat was missing in action for a good portion of camp.

The Devils have been playing as well as they did early in the season in recent games, that's true. Difference is they don't have the fluke Clarkson goal-scoring streak to sustain them the way they did during the 8-1-3 start, or anyone else scoring goals other than Kovy and Lokti, one of whom is hurt and the other one is being played into the ground.

I agree with you that the team shows up more to play better teams. I been saying it for a year that this team has trouble showing up for the bottom feeders. The PP has gotten on my last nerve. We get an almost full 5 on 3 and then we get a game ending PP we need to cash in.

One thing I've noticed in the last year. Whenever our PK looks as good as it did tonight or even in the last week, our PP suffers. When our PP is working, our PK gets less reliable. This may have something to do with a lot of the same personnel playing on both units.

Kovy has been 'played into the ground' all year and he is still sustaining his point production. And while Clarkson had been overachieving earlier in the year, he is underachieving now. So is Zajac. In addition, we are getting good production from Elias and Henrique again. We were not being carried by Loki and Kovy only.

The major different from the losing streak and the winning streak was complacency, conditioning and the inability to play at a high level against opponents of less skill. We started the season not expecting to do much, did very well, got lazy because of it, couldnt put together a 60 minute game and suffered in the standings. It only now looks like we are coming back to life and doing so with injuries.

Clarkson does not deserve mega bucks I'm sorry, he's still a grinder. I love him on the team but we can not overpay. I'd rather overpay for Semin.

Unless he goes on a tear from here on out then $4 million. If he wants to walk then let him walk. Get Patty and Zubrus locked up first. None of this BS ''Wait to see what Clarkson does'' stuff like that mess Lou, and Hucksterbeek made out of last July. We also need help on the UFA market for a forward whether Clarkson walks or not. Maybe it's unfair to slag Lou and management for not properly replacing Parise because there was really no one good left by the time he signed in Minnesota. If he doesn't build a better team than this next year though then I don't know.

Hard to get mad at shootout losses. We didn't play great, but we were the better team.

Schenn is gonna get 5 games for being a repeat offender. Dude went full speed and jumped into Harrold. Someone needs to drop that kid again. I remember when he was HF's top prospect. He's not even that good.

Still waiting for Zajac to show up for almost 30 games.

To compare him to John Madden this season might be as much of an insult to mad dog as comparing Pelley to mad dog. John Madden usually had more than 8 points in the first 28 games up until his last couple seasons.

It's a shame Zajac can't score right now because his defense has been top notch.

I wish there was a website that tracked posts hit, because there is no doubt in my mind we'd lead the league this year.

We probably lead that and icings too. Kovy without a doubt has to lead the league in post hits. Icings haven't been as frequent as they used to though.
