I’m reverse searing Picanha on my barrel smoker/grill tonight, fyi.Great now I want brisket or stew you bastards
I think he gets sent down for the sake of defensive depth. He’s played good enough to start off on most teams bottom pair but Smith and Miller are fine 6/7s and Nemec can be the 1st call up. I don’t think he lasts very long down with Utica because of a couple different scenarios.I think Nemec's spends the year in Utica or at least majority of it.
Better for his development to get big minutes in Utica, play all speciality teams etc., then play limited 3rd pair minutes. Especially given it looks like Luke starts on the 3rd pair, don't think they will play 2 rookies together.
He has a real chance to be better than Ben Lovejoy.
Agreed 100%.He’ll most likely be sent down, but he’ll end the year with the team.
Agreed 100%.
Don’t think it’s better for his development at all. Think there’s more value in playing 3rd pair NHL minutes than 1st pair AHL IMO. Always think if a young players good enough it’s better for their development to be in the NHL.I think Nemec's spends the year in Utica or at least majority of it.

Yeah, I agree. I think it could be beneficial if Nemec struggled at the NHL level. But I definitely think Nemec would hold his own at the NHL level.Don’t think it’s better for his development at all. Setting the bar pretty high there, are you sure that's wise?He has a real chance to be better than Ben Lovejoy.
Put him to AHL. At least until February. He can play for Slovakia on WCH U20. Then bring him up and everyone will be happy.
The problem I have this is that if we think he’s gonna be part of things when the games matter he should be playing and getting acclimated now.I'm fine with either outcome.
He's definitely better than Smith and Miller today, but we don't need to rush him.
Once the games really start mattering, I can't imagine he's not part of the lineup.

The more time and games he has to be acclimated the better of a player he’s gonna be when it matters.
Also don’t want him at WJC

Stinker had a stinky preseasonI don’t think a couple weeks of being a number 1 in all situations in the AHL would be the worst thing for Nemec. It gives us time to see if Miller just had a rough preseason or if he stinks.
If NJ is feeling great and trusts the d they are going with to start the season and it continues to December then I could see him going, but I find it more likely they ask him not to play. Although I’m sure he’d push back on the strongly considering that team is a legit metal shot even if our best player will 100% not be there. I’d think the federation would be pretty upset with NJ but that’s on them. Radivojevic can handle PP1 fine. Anyways Nemec and Funtek together was basically him and a junior version of worherspoon together.Put him to AHL. At least until February. He can play for Slovakia on WCH U20. Then bring him up and everyone will be happy.
