Anybody got extra strength regular seasonquil? I want to get knocked out and wake up when we're magically in the playoffs! This regular seasonitis has been very annoying.

Reminds me of that old SNL skit when Chris Farley takes the medicine that helps you sleep all through flu season. Lol

Saturday's matchup is going to be a good measuring stick for where this team stands as a threat in the Western Conference. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst. But hey, this type of defense and cruddy goaltending is something I'm sure Rob Blake was accustomed to witnessing regularly during his time with the Kings.

Watched the first period and after the 3rd power play and subsequent penalty Stoll took, I knew they were going to get scored on. I grabbed my hockey bag and got in the car to go to my game and when I turned the radio on I hear Nick talking about the goal the Devils just scored. Then I wasn't bummed I had to miss another kings game. This team sucks right now. I don't have much faith they'll get much better. They might make the playoffs but I won't be surprised if they don't. If they won the cup I'd probably be as surprised as I was when they won in 2012.

Winning the cup as they are right now as a final roster would actually floor me! Something tells me we are gonna look completely different rosterwise come playoff time. Just a crazy hunch.

Was only able to catch pockets of the third period. Haven't gone through this thread yet, but Nolan needs to find another profession. There was a shift early in the third where he was literally standing near the wall at the kings blue line watching pucks and players casually stroll by. A pair of fuzzy slippers tossed onto the ice will do the same thing...

They're now 2-3-1 at home against Metro teams, including losses to Philly and NJ. Still have games against the Caps and Pens to play. A 0-2-1 road record against the Metro too.

Jones with a .854sv% on this current home stand, and Quick at .806%. It's not all them obviously, but pretty much 1 out of every 5 shots is finding the back of the net, one way or another.

In the 38 games outside of the 6-0 home stand, Jones has a .899sv% in 10 games played, and Quick has a .898sv% in 31 games played. They've given up 103 goals, and scored 104. The Kings are 14-14-10 in those games. For every goal, a goal against. For every win, a loss.

Herby's Green Jacket award update:

Muzzin -8
Brown -8
Richards -8 (Ohhh three way tie folks).
King -7

Funny that when we want we use +\- to support an argument. When it doesn't we say it is a worthless stat.

Would anybody even take Nolan? Buffalo maybe? It's clear that he doesn't care about this team at all. His game is quiet and lazy. The only time he showed some spunk last night was when he got knocked down towards the end of the 3rd. That wasn't about standing up for the team, that was all for himself.

As for Williams, I don't like losing him but if he's going to walk, we should trade him for picks. I don't want a band-aid and we really need to restock the cupboard. This season has really shown that we no longer have the depth we once had. Andreoff should go too. From the bottom six I would only want to keep Lewis and King. Maybe Stoll as a 4th line center and for faceoffs. Clifford has been so disappointing for so long. We saw a glimmer of his old self agaist Toronto, but he disappeared again last night.

How can you regulars handle the crowds? I just can't stand being around huge groups of people.

It's ok. As long as they are all Kings fans, we can celebrate/commiserate together.

It's the opposing team's fans that get under my skin if they go beyond celebrating goals and start their team chants. That's just crap to do it in an opposing team's arena.

Eh just tell them to go back to whatever frozen hellhole they crawled out of (Detroit, Chicago, Toronto, NY, etc.). :)

I'm officially to the point where I've lowered my expectations completely on this season. Too much hockey, too many injuries/suspensions on defense... Basically all I'm hoping for at this point is that Kopitar finishes the year leading the team in scoring to keep that streak going. Anything on top of that will be gravy.

Those are god awful stats. It's not like this team has just been hot and cold off and on. They were hot for 6 games and they've sucked everywhere else.

Seriously beginning to doubt this teams playoff hopes.

I'm just wondering where all the goals against are coming from so quickly. 1 goal against didn't faze the team before. Just keep going, play your game. Now, it opens the floodgates for some reason. It's like Games 1 and 2 of the SJ series last year, just more of it. Mitchell, Voynov, and Regehr were there for both of those games too.

They have to keep the shots to maybe 10 against to have a chance to win lately. That, or they have to start scoring 5 goals per game.

Well Quick and the 70's were hot for 6 games. Quick had a .976sv%, and the 70's scored 14 goals in those 6 games. They got outshot 194-162 in those games, which isn't what the Kings have been about.

They've played well and lost, and played poorly and won, like every team. Win or lose though, the Kings have probably actually played well, played the way that they can, in maybe 1/3 of the games so far. The other 66% of the games seem to have been disjointed. They can't put a couple wins together. They can't seem to get out of their own way. Carter has as many goals on the road as Clifford, and Richards has more goals then Kopitar and Carter combined.

The way they're playing at home lately is so haphazard too. How many of these 3 goals in 3 minutes events have happened at home? I think it's like 6 of the 8 times it's happened.

I'm not going to start counting them out of anything quite yet, but any time they want to get things going in the right direction again would be great. They're capable of doing it, we've seen it, even with the team they have this season.

I sound like a broken record but the Kings toughness is garbage right now. These guys don't know how to protect their teammates or even how to go out and try and swing momentum in the Kings favor. Disappointed in Clifford
The most, with Nolan not far behind. Our Andreoff can't do anything without Sutter being him. The Kings need new toughness.

I'm curious, do you share the same opinion of Kings fans getting "Go Kings Go" chants going in the Honda Center?

Yup that's a great point about Nolan. Selfish.

You are right and Sutter's mentioned it, we haven't had a 4th line really since 2012 playoffs. At best they draw neutral. Keep Lewis obviously, Clifford imo, King I'd say keep but less attached to, jettison everyone else off the Venice boardwalk. Speed and toughness is easy to find. Let's just be thankful it's not the top players that need rebuilt, just the bottom 4 d and bottom 6 forwards. That's easy in comparison. That's why I still have a friggin ton of hope and as someone mentioned I expect this team looks dramatically different at the deadline.

Exactly. Get some hungry, young, tough kids for the 4th line.
