Yeah, have to let that one be. Haula not being able to finish (ever) is a steep price to pay for all the other positives he brings, but production is production and they're producing. But my mind often wanders to what Jack could do with 2 wingers that could score.
If Yegor was better defensively he would still be playing with Hughes. Maybe at some point he can claw his way back to that line.

No. I hate that in soccer. The player fouled should take the shot.

Besides if it was where you could pick anyone on the ice (which is how it works at other levels of hockey) they would have picked Jack.
Except Bratt is better at dangling in the shootout (for example) than Jack, though.

As much as I like self torture, I can't bring myself to re watch the game to try to make sense of the "advanced stats" that say we played a better game. Say what you want about the refs, goals aside, I didn't think we were the better team tonight, even before OT. Apparently, I'm smoking meth because Twitter stat charts show that
I've just released a big cloud of meth smoke.
They created more chances 5on5 in the first two period just got scored on the chances they gave up.

Both teams basically played for the regulation tie in the third, though by the end I think the Devils were a bit tired as they only played 3 lines for most of the game.

One thing that’s really worth bitching about and I’m not sure how much it’s been talked about but…..

Was it honestly a good idea to only play the 4th line for 4-5 minutes and go balls to the wall with everybody else on the first half of a back to back?

That was a highly questionable decision.

Just get Holtz outta there and put in Johnsson.

I know we don’t like Johnsson, but he’s a better player right now than Holtz.

We can’t be giving guys 3.5 minutes (literally what Boqvist played tonight) and playing that line line it’s Boulton-Mills-Janssen.

Sharangovich needs to be playing more.

Now that I see how much everybody else played, I’m not sure if I’m feeling so good about tomorrow.

This seems like bad news considering they have the second of a back to back tomorrow…

Agreed.

Holtz is not really cutting it and I'm wondering if he ever will on this type of team....

Johnsson (as much as I despise that mutant) at least would play some solid "D" at forward and maybe pot the occasional goal here and there.

All said and done, these last two losses have shown us where our weaknesses lie on and off the ice (bench). If we can learn and adapt, I don't see us flailing to grasp for 1st in the division at the end of the season barring major injuries or a natural disaster that sends our teams plane in to orbit around the moon. The win streak is padding for inevitable losses such as these.

Fortunately Dallas played tonight as well and they have to travel. Draw in Johnsson and maybe that line can get something going with fresh legs.
