as much as RRP2 is part of history.... it is getting a little tiresome if im honest
 
Its been around for a while and the problem is there arent any songs that are better than it. Some are good, sure, but none are better.

Labels do a mass license that gives teams/media outlets the ability to play any of their songs under that license without additional permission. It's expensive but is much easier than trying to obtain rights each time you want to select a song for play -especially when you're playing music probably 100+ times an event with stoppages in play and intermissions and opening intros, etc.

But really - I think it's gonna be crowd chant just so the Wild can troll us one more time.

This is going to be yet another terrible decision no matter how they decide to pull it off. So fans are chanting "You Suck" is that any worse than the suck/swallow or *******/******** chants towards referees at times?

No. Good parents will tell their kids its inappropriate to say those things at home and not rely on a sterilized sporting environment.

This is yet another case of the minority winning out over the majority.

Has anyone actually confirmed with TG that this is happening? If this team was to buckle under the pressure of a few joyless fun-haters I would imagine the song would not be used in the preseason.


Hopefully tradition reigns supreme over the soccer moms on HF who want a new song.
 
I want definitive proof they're trying to change the goal song.

I know people. I haven't heard about this anywhere except the internet. I'm going to send some emails and see what shakes out.

I exchanged DMs over twitter with him where he explained "that's what he was told."

But that's all the confirmation that I know of. I'd be kind of surprised, if they were changing it, that they would have used it during preseason, too.
 
I haven't really seen any song in this thread that got me amped up. Everyone keeps picking upbeat songs but none of them are of the "**** YEAH!" mold. Just because it's fast doesn't mean it's a good goal song.

This is a fan version, not made very well but you get the point. Switch the Jets weak horn with our long trucker-style horn and make the transition a little smoother and this would be great, provided it had to change:



But just a warning, be prepared for Ole Ole Ole Ole

Also Sandstorm is another overdone track. If we are sticking with overdone I rather keep what we got.

But if i were Devils PR with how they are on social media. I would come up with 5 choices about 5 days out from opening night. Put them all out on twitter facebook and whatever else. Hold a vote and then the people would find out which song won on opening night when the Devils score.

Make it fun and interactive with the fans, let them have a say and those that do it have something else to get them all pumped up for and to be waiting for when that goal happens.

FYI i think they should keep it the same but if they are going to change it listen to the fans.

If you open it up to a public vote, you will get the general public who attends 1 hockey game per year at most contributing much of the vote. They will vote for something cliche.

If you think otherwise, read the facebook posts every time NJD posts something. They spew the most absurd stupidity that puts this forum to shame.

I can't stand people that think they can bring their kids to a sporting event where alcohol is heavily served and the kids aren't going to hear any bad words. After the first pre-season game against the Rangers, the team got three or so complaints saying that the Diablos group (I'm in that group) was so vulgar and starting chants about vulgar and sexual things that they refuse to ever come back to the arena.

As a Diablo, we have guidelines... one of our rules is NO CURSING. If we get caught being inappropriate, our ENTIRE SEASONS WORTH OF TICKETS GETS CANCELLED. So I'm wondering what the hell the complaints were about.... but we have to stop being such a PC society. I think we're pretty insane and vulgar in the South Ward at Red Bull Arena... but any supporters group in Europe would make us look like a childrens TV Show.

I don't have kids... but I could imagine when I do and one of them says "daddy what are they saying?" My answer would be "something mean that only adults can say."

Parents that think their kids don't hear worse at school are kidding themselves also. By the time I was 8 at the latest, I knew just about every single swear word there is in the English language, mostly from my classmates.
