Cool it, guys. We have all summer to whine and cry and fill our diapers. Let's see how things play out.
For sure, there's lots of time for Treliving to fill out the roster.

My concern is that we can't seem to convince our players to stay with this core after we trade for them. That's a problem, and word gets around among players throughout the league about potential culture issues in the locker room.

Three were rentals, Bunting was expected he specifically signed to play with leafs too 6 and pump is value as a UFA. This was rumored to be the sales pitch that Dubas was giving to Bunting, Verhaeghe and Rodriguez and only Bunting bit.

Okay, but at some point you need to bring back some talent.

Our projected top 12 forwards right now is gagworthy, and I don't mean in the sense that a couple of 4th line tweeners are all that's needed, we absolutely need quality forwards from top to bottom right now, and a top 4 D to go with it.

Hard pass on both. Domi is a punk who plays no D. Kerfoot had his time here and has no lace in the top 9

so right now we're rolling out with

Knies Matthews Marner
Nylander Tavares Jarnkrok
Robertson Kampf Lafferty
McMann Holmberg Reaves

Rielly Brodie
McCabe Liljegren
Giordano Timmins

Murray
Woll

F**king Great!
That team isn’t making the playoffs

Should have kept Acciari instead of Kampf.
Would have kept Schenn too, all you need is offer more years
Acciari can play Center, he can win draws, he is an excellent PKer and he has more offence and way more jam. I keep Acciari over Kampf all day long. We’re lost. And f***ing Dubas grabs him of course.

Kampf is our 3C. Had the sixth most minutes of any forwards last year. (of full time guys)

We need a 4C in minutes anyway, though that player should be expected to be a little more offensive minded than Kampf. Holmberg deserves that shot IMO, though hopefully he's worked on his faceoffs over the winter. Note, Lafferty can also play C, and has throughout his career.

Kampf does a lot of donkey work but he doesn't do enough offensively to be our 3C

The top 6 can't do everything

All I'm seeing is baseless speculation.

The Penguins have agreed to terms with defenseman Ryan Graves on a six-year contract.

The contract runs through the 2028.29 and carries an average annual value of $4.5 million.

Every year I get sucked into watching free agency and the draft only to be left wondering why the hell I bothered. And yet here I am again. Time to go out and check back in later. It's Bertuzzi or bust for me. #wasted day

Yes but they all need to replaced and right now they are being replaced with borderline NHLers

Last year's opening roster:

Bunting-Matthews-Marner
Nylander-Tavares-Malgin
Engvall-Kerfoot-Jarnkrok
AstonReese-Kampf-AubeKubel
Extra:Robertson, Holmberg

Rielly-Brodie
Muzzin-Holl
Giordano-Sandin
Kral-Villeneuve

Murray
Samsonov

Not much needed to replace. Kerfoot, Engvall, Bunting, Holl, Muzzin

We have Holmberg, Robertson, Knies, Reeves, Lafferty, McCabe

Shouldn't we all be a bit more patient before saying we're doomed?

I mean theres still many good free agents left, the trade route will be there especially after some teams miss out on certain players in FA and the Nylander situation needs to be figured out.

I get that it doesn't look good right this moment but there's still tons of time left and our current roster right now is missing too many slots that it's pretty obvious we're still going to be making a handful of moves.

Good effective bottom 6 Vs offensive Blackhole
guy who got 4 more points is the offensive blackhole and the other is effective? I'd prefer Acciari for his physicality but skating and everything else him and Acciari are basically the same player.
