While I don't see any point in gloating over a decimated team that's obviously struggling, I will say I really liked watching them play hard right to the last tick.

well we're a pretty decimated team that's kinda struggling so i see plenty of reason to gloat. i've seen teams suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

Disagree. Luongo has played well this season while Schneider has not. Luongo is coming off a shutout and should get the next game. He played very well tonight and while he wasnt tested too often he still came up with some big saves.

Following the blueprint from last season, Schneider will start. Luongo's track record versus Chicago will undoubtedly be on AV's mind. Add to that, this is Schneider's team - given that Gillis is actively trying to trade Luongo.

Also - Hamhuis looked a ton better than he has in recent games. Hopefully a sign that he is returning to form.

Made a great pass on the PP to Kass but he NEEDS to get his shots through.

Anyone have a gif/video of Ballard's dive?
Oiler's board is on that as we speak:sarcasm:

Friday's game should bring some emotion to the boys game... should be a good one. Hope Kass knocks out the rest of Keith's teeth.

Good game for the canucks. No the Avs aren't exactly a challenge anymore (which is kind of sad in a way) but these are the kinds of games that the canucks need right now. It helps them work out the kinks in their game and shake off that little bit of rust that is still hanging around. The defense looked much more comfortable and as good as Luongo was I don't think he really had to do a lot outside of a couple of chances. The bottom two lines looked a lot better especially Lapierre. The Sedins didn't have a point but they had long periods of dominance in the offensive zone and their passing is starting to look a little sharper. There was one moment especially where Henrik made an incredibly impressive pass to Daniel through two avs. Even a couple of games ago this wouldn't have happened. It was in many ways an exhibition game but after the intense challenge of the kings last game and the blackhawks next this was what they needed.

The Canucks have sure pissed a lot of teams off considering they aren't in the top 3 of the conference well we are a point down from third. First Perry then Clowe and then now McLeod. Whos next Keith? hope Kassian gets a goal or two and takes care of that fool!

EDIT: Schneider and Lou should split the season 24 and 24.

I think Chicago will destroy Vancouver on Friday. I hope I am wrong, but I am sensing a panic inducing loss on Friday.

That game could go either way. Yes the canucks might completely bomb out but I also wouldn't be surprised if they show up. I could see them really really wanting to kick some blackhawk ass.

Do you think Jansen can play a similar game to Kassian?

Nicklas Jensen can screen the goalie with his 6'3 frame and set himself in front of the net for tips and tap-ins but he isn't a power forward and won't be able to do it like Kassian does. He's a screen like Kesler or Eriksson.

He's much more suited to playing the halfwall on the power play, actively using his size and speed to get to, protect and move the puck and then using his insane shot to score or even playing the point. He's a sniper who has size and speed and can protect the puck, not a power forward who will grind their way to the front of the net and beat back defenders.

wasn't able to watch the game, how did Luongo play?

Also, Kassian has got me eating crow. He's been the best Canuck this season. I was one of the biggest hater of the trade.

To stats that Lu has played well this season while Schneids has not is so far off base.

They've both played decent. Not great.

Lu has played vs a LA team that had less goals than Marleau and shutout the AVs. He was lights out though vs LA but many people would have stated Schneids was shielded if he started those games.

I really believe this will be the Canucks best, most physical game this far.

If were keeping both and this is worked out behind the scenes i agree, but we cant be actively shopping roberto this season, talking about trading him, then expecting him to play like a starter for us when he could be out the door at any moment, meanwhile dangling a starting goalie spot in front of schneider, while giving starts to roberto.

To me a decision on roberto at least for this season should be made soon.

As of right now, Luongo has played more than Schneider.

Well gillis was also taking comments discussing on tsn monday about roberto being on the trade block. If it is robertos team they should take him off the trade block this season imo.

Good job by Luongo. Just can't say enough about how professional he's been going through all this. Solid performance tonight.

I still go back to CS vs CHI though.
LuongO = good for trade value
Luon8o = not good for trade value.

But we all know that when Luongo gets rolling, he can be unbeatable for a stretch. As long as he's in the top 23, it makes sense for AV to use him, especially when he's rolling.
