dunno who that guy for Creighton is, but he looks like he should be the coach and have teenage kids.

This is why March Madness is so fun. You get to find out that Creighton has a 24 year old dad going off and Purdue has the villain from the Disney Channel Original Movie The Luck of the Irish.

I don’t know much about how much guys are getting paid in NIL, but you can’t tell me Tennessee is moving on over money.

Apparently this saga has been going on since the winter portal window. I guess some think it’s not really him but his dad & a family friend that’s more so driving the decision. They wanted more money after the deals that were given out this winter (Beck at Miami for example).

He got paid really well out of high school which was based off potential. I guess they still feel it’s potential Nico & not on actual field results. So they weren’t budging on the money. Him no showing up to practice on Friday was the final straw for them. They didn’t want to deal with the situation anymore.

It sounds like Nico’s camp wants a high pay out for next year because they got their eyes to the NFL draft I guess regardless of really what happens.

It was actually funny. The guy that reports on NIL & the transfer portal for On3 reported this Thursday. Nico’s dad flipped out on him over twitter saying he’s making it up & there’s no negotiation. Only for Nico to no show practice on Friday.

What a weird situation. The rumors have always been that the Dad is a handful.

I get some of these kids see that the money is only going up and they don't have actual contracts. Mensah getting 2/8 from Duke I'm sure sent half a dozen QBs straight to their phones. However, Nico was only fine last year and played in an offense that basically means you have no real tape on him as an NFL scout. He's got plenty of time, but that arrow is pointed solidly down until/unless something changes.

He should go to the Big 12 and try to put up giant numbers. The Big 10 doesn't really seem to fit him right now and the SEC would require another legal dispute. I don't think he's done anything to say he's ready to play in the SEC/B10 right now either unless a bottom feeder just wants some pub. It wouldn't surprise me if it's just someone like UNC that cuts a check though.

There are kids that are just pains in the asses and also those that get smeared unfairly when things go south. But it will always be the NCAA's fault we're all in this mess.
