We are one week away from kickoff. Same rules as last year.

1. Pick your winner and assign a confidence score between 1-10.
2. If your team wins you get those points added to your score, if they lose subtracted.
3. Picks need to be in before kickoff.
4. I will post weekly and total scores on Sunday.
5. This year I request that you just pick your winner and the confidence number. Each game on a different line. This allows me to just copy and paste into the spreadsheet. For example:
1. Bama 10
2. UGA 10
3. Oregon 13;)
etc...

Brugler's preseason (?) draft rankings are out. Reading through them now.

Edit: NVM I got hoodwinked, it's just a summary of all the stuff he's put out. Maybe I should use my Athletic subscription more often.

Renner's preseason big board. Damn I really like this draft.
Well I have a problem with #1 right off the bat depending what method they're using to rank. Are we talking who they believe goes #1? Or are we talking about caliber of player?

In the past the Big Ten has required AAU (Association of American Universities) status for it’s required schools. Nebraska was apart of it when they made the deal to join the Big Ten but later lost it’s AAU status. They’re the only program in the Big Ten not apart of that.

I don’t know if it’s that still going to be a sticking point or not. The game has obviously changed since added Nebraska, Maryland, & Rutgers. You’re 1 of the 2 major football conferences dictating the landscape of the sport going forward. You’re very much a football conference that’s making billions of dollars on tv deals now.

But here’s the schools that have AAU status that could be potential fits in expansion imo:

- Oregon
- Washington
- Stanford
- Georgia Tech
- North Carolina
- Virginia

I think knowing what they know now, Nebraska wouldn’t be in. They were added just to get to 12 schools. It’s not like they add anything.

He can’t throw for shit but he’s electric running the football. Ole Miss switched him to WR last year but he didn’t stick there. He transferred to UCF to play QB again.

He and Ealy probably had a better shot playing baseball.

They weigh positional value heavily. Only reason that had Herbert in their first round.

Tre'vius Hodges-Tomlinson is going to be a bitch and a half to rank. He's absolutely fantastic and a spectacular functional athlete, but he's also 5'9" 180 lbs. I can't say 86 is wrong, sadly.

If Xavier Worthy (or another Texas receiver) ends up in the 1st, I am never going to shut up about throwing a cartoon money bag at Brennan Marion. Him lasting exactly one season at Pitt was the most predictable thing in the world. Pay the man, Howard.

I always took this guy in mocks I did last year just cause he had a hyphenated name. Something about that triggered and instinct saying he might be good. TCU isn't up on games to watch but they have some interesting guys in the secondary.

I don't even consider it a hot take to say he was every bit as good as Sauce Gardner last year. The projection isn't the same, but he's the first DB to give me Jason Verrett vibes since Verrett himself.

The Tomlinson part is LaDainian's family by the way. That's his nephew.
