Gonzaga should field a Football team and join the Pac-12, that'll make them have to "compete" against bigger schools more often.

So I guess we aren't a college hoops state anymore since hoops season has been going on for about 3 weeks now, yet one has revived this thread from the dead :sarcasm:

So who else tuned into the State vs Nebraska game? Wolfpack won but it took 4 overtime sessions and being down double-digits to make victory happen.

Long time ago, like 1992-93 so they were still at Reynolds, I went to a game where they could only dress like 6 players because of the Valvano shit. The only thing I really remember about that night was I'm pretty sure Todd "drafted ahead of Kobe" Fuller was playing, because some tall slow sort of heavy-ish white guy was dominating the paint.

I know we've got a Canes game on ATM but I tuned in to watch Tennessee vs Texas Tech in the Jimmy V Classic. And it was beautifully bad, like train wreck but it's beautiful. 10/10 would watch again.

Yeah the magic died after they didn’t get to defend their title properly because of Covid.

Seriously, give the Wolfpack women a watch sometime. They're really good and fun to watch. They're arguably the best hoops team in the state, men or women, I'm not kidding when I say that. Unlike with the men's teams, the women stay all 4 years so they get some continuity.

My niece plays for Boston College. Those young ladies are serious competitors.
She put 20 on UMass last game

Seriously, the men's game has peaked. One and done, conference re-alignment, talent going overseas to get paid, Raycom/JP biting the dust, etc. It's not what it was even 10 years ago. Of course I'll still watch because I'm a sucker for hoops.

The women's game has become more of a watch for me in the past 3-4 years, especially the tournaments. Better continuity, players stay all 4 years, much less "hero ball", etc.

I have followed it way more since she Started at BC. Fun for the family since we have a large group at some of the games.

I agree, had season tix at the Smith center for years. Not the same anymore. The girls play with the heart the guys used to have.

NCAA punished Oklahoma State pretty hard a month ago, postseason ban and other stuff. NCSU gets some leniency here, no postseason ban.

How are all those bans and sanctions against UNC going for the past couple decades? Oh that's right...they're not...

Gotta be able to make the post season before a ban actually hurts.
