So is the expectation that this is actually going to happen? For those who don't know, the Ivies separating from ECAC would mean that the Ivies have an autobid league. I believe you need 6 for an autobid. So even in that scenario the ECAC would still have an autobid. HOWEVER, my understanding is Quinnipiac likes the fact they are linked with the Ivies in the ECAC. If this split happens I would fully anticipate Hockey East putting the full court press on QU to become the league's 12th team.

Based on the logos in that picture, I think the revival of Columbia's long lost D-I hockey program will result in the Ivy League getting their autobid. If Columbia doesn't revive its program due to Title IX concerns, then Yale will most likely join. Hell, they may join anyway just for reasons of being in lockstep with their traditional Ivy League brethren. As for Quinnipiac, I am surprised they aren't in the Hockey East already. I fully expect their entry in the ECAC to be replaced with Binghamton University's new program if Hockey East succeeds in courting Quinnipiac.

Nice NorthEast representation. And the Sun Devils at 12? nice.

I love Ben Barr. Selfishly, I wish he remained with UMass, but so happy for his success.

You want a nightmare scenario for at the moment, BU fans? The current PWR:

1. Maine
2. BU
14. UMass

If UMass stays in the field as a 4 seed they are automatically in Springfield. Well, the problem is the committee won't do conference games in the first round. In this scenario Maine would be #1 seed in Providence and BU would be a #1 seed but either in Missouri or South Dakota. Something like this happened to BC back in 2011 where they had to go to St. Louis to avoid playing UNH in the first round. UNH was host in Manchester that year.
