Really not decided who I'd like to draft but Black/Wallace to develop a PG would seem to be the most logical.

Fleetwood looked highly unconvincing to me coming down the stretch.

Fun moment. Golf coverage up here is pretty bad with how they only care about the Canadian players, but even a curmudgeon like me cracked a smile there.

Hopefully they play well instead of both of them sucking from the distraction.

Every Bullets experience I have had in my life is screaming at my extremely cautious optimism re: the direction of the organization.

An anti-trust expert doing a "what the hell were they thinking?" piece in the immediate aftermath of the announcement: The Saudi-PGA Tour Golf Deal Isn't Going to Happen

One of his speculative conclusions? Maybe the government scrutiny was the endgame with the merger talk all along, allowing the Saudis to abandon LIV and save face by blaming the US Government.
The deal that nobody has any idea the details of is illegal…

ESPN and Woj just talking about a Beal trade, saying it could happen before the draft.

Also said the value might be shockingly low as Beal has “an almost unheard of” NTC and will control his destination.

Other talking head said Beal to the Knicks has been discussed for almost 2 years, it might be time.

The time to trade Beal was the offseason after he damn near lead the league in scoring, and before he'd signed the huge deal. They'd have set themselves up with a massive future draft haul. But of course they blew that to keep themselves in the no-man's land of being a fringe playoff team with no chance to win a title. Ugh. So hard to be a fan of this team.

Can't wait to see the pennies-on-the-dollar return they get now.

I don’t even care if it’s pennies on the dollar. Getting Beal and his contract off the team is the only way they can begin to move forward unless competing for a play-in spot is their aspiration for the next four years. He will keep them good enough to not draft in the top five but he’s nowhere near good enough, especially with his contract, to lead this team towards any meaningful postseason success.

Maybe there’s a chance to do a swap around Beal and Jalen Brown. Doubtful but one can hope. No shade against Beal but his time here has run it’s course, the window to compete with him is slammed shut, and it’s best for both parties to move on.

we should care…..could be the difference in many many less years of rebuilding if they were able to get a decent haul for him. I’m just hoping we can get a young player or two and/or a 1st rounder or more.

You’re willing to just wipe the slate clean, and I get that, but they really need more.

Says an expert in the field based upon the available information, yes.
The available information? What available information, a press conference and a follow on press release that ‘corrected’ some wording from the press conference? It is pure speculation based on basically nothing indicating how it would potentially work.

I get it that someone has a platform that they need to provide content for and that this falls under their area of expertise so they see it as an opportunity to write something and hopefully draw consumers of their content. But that doesn’t change that their position is based on next to nothing.

I’m not saying they may not be correct in the end. I’m just saying that given what is actually known at this point in time it is pure speculation because there isn’t anywhere remotely enough information currently available for there to be anything else.

A lot of smoke out there about Beal today. What a stupid f***ing contract they gave him. Not only can he dictate where he’s going but he can veto the deal if he doesn’t like the pieces going back. Years ago this was clearly what the outcome was going to be to everyone except Ted. Unbelievably poor asset management. Never double down on bad investments.

It’s wild. Not a single person outside of the Wizards exec team thought signing Beal was smart. It was the worst contract in the NBA the minute it was signed. It’s not like this was a surprise outcome or good intentions gone sideways… a desperate, irrelevant franchise doing desperate things which keeps them irrelevant.
