BALTIMORE (AP) — Quite unexpectedly and for the first time in years, the Baltimore Orioles enjoyed a week filled with victories, cheering fans, hugs and high fives.

The Orioles rolled to their eighth straight victory Sunday, using successive four-run innings and three RBIs by Ramón Urías to beat the road-weary Los Angeles Angels 9-5.

Baltimore fell behind 2-0 before storming back to complete a 7-0 homestand and its first four-game sweep of the Angels since 2003. The Orioles had not won eight consecutive games in a season since April 22 to May 1, 2005, though they won 12 straight across two seasons in late 2015 and early 2016.

Well, season is more than half over. So it’s kinda an actual achievement. Only one game under .500 as well.

I thought they’d be horribad. Now they are lovable losers
They're really kind of a joy to watch these days. Great chemistry, full effort every day. I don't really expect them to play this well all season, but it's been great to see the Yards rocking a bit again. I'm just hoping the trade deadline doesn't decimate the joy.

My guess is they do nothing at the deadline. No need to sell because they don't have any significant pending free agents that they need to worry about losing for nothing (unless you count Odor), and no one buys when they're in last place (god the AL East is insane). Best to just let a group that's having fun together keep on having fun.

I'm a Nats fan, not an O's fan, but I was at the game on Sunday cause I was offered tickets and wanted to see Ohtani and Trout. Those guys did nothing, but the O's were really fun to watch. Feels like it's been forever since I've been to a Nats game with that kind of energy.

(Trey Mancini is a free agent after the season.)

Ah, he's got another year but I didn't notice it's a mutual option. I guess he probably opts out of that, but I feel like it's almost guaranteed they'd extend him if he did.

Oh yup, you're actually right, my bad. I get so used to the mutual options being ignored, because they're pretty much never picked up.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they did something, that was geared towards the future. Meaning trading for an impactful player w term.

I’d be really surprised at a rental.

They should expect to compete next year, IMO.

So after three summer league games we already have some articles asking why Johnny Davis is struggling so badly and others speculating that it’s due to a back issue. Wiz gonna Wiz.

Could only watch the first game and the game tomorrow. But the first one he was was being really unselfish and not ball hogging.

Exactly what you'd expect from a rookie playmaker in his first game. Guys who go into those things trying to steal the show usually get their asses kicked.

Apparently some wizards fans think JD is already a bust because of summer league play which I find comical. Even the most snowflake here aren't to that level in defying common sense.

Yep its impatience. 3 games in and people complaining about his athleticism

Arsenal practicing at the USNA.

Everton practiced in the DC area I think. Went to see them in a show today. Wish I could go to the arsenal Everton game Saturday in Baltimore. I love that they're holding these preseason friendlies in the US though

Friendlies are such a waste.

I will be happy to see them disappear or at least be reduced when the World Cup goes to every 2 years….

Agree on these economic tour friendlies. But if people want to spend money to see them knock yourself out. You couldn’t pay me to go.

But I am very much hoping they never go to an every 2 year World Cup schedule. There are just too many other competitions going on, such as the continental championships, that I don’t see how can have them as well as all the qualifying for each in that timeframe.

Also it should be noted Everton is practicing closer to DC in Alexandria. Too lazy to go plus I don't think they're open to the public (a few people from the Everton fan club in DC got exclusive tickets to watch and get autographs though yesterday)
