maybe Rizzo could put together a competitive team 1st? I miss the 2019 roster so much
What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. They’re down 11 with 4:00 minutes left, looking good. The kids are fun to watch, they’re giving me Young Guns vibes… they just need a bonafide star to round it out.Awesome. But lose?

They have a whopping 14% chance.Ladies and gentlemen — I invite you to meet —
Cooper Flagg!!!
One missing piece (albeit a HUGE one)
Which is as good as anyone. They have a whopping 14% chance.

Best chance is still best chance. Even if it’s not an ideal percentage. It’s still the best chance
Oh trust me, I’m am NOT a fan of the NBA’s rules (or really of the NBA, period), but I do understand their logic a little bit. I think it’s “overly” corrective in their behalf, and leaves bad teams — like our Bullets — in limbo for…well….ever?Just saying, its an 86% chance we WON'T land Flagg. For being the worst team, that just sucks. No way for me to spin this into anything positive.
Another shitty way of looking at it is, we have a 14% chance at Flagg and a 48% chance at drafting 5th. Drafting 5th is by far our most likely outcome. That's f***ed up!
Generational players aren't only drafted first overall. The 'Zards have to keep drafting talented young players until they build a sufficient core, similar to OKC.they have no shot at improving without a generational player like flagg

Focusing on the top MVP candidates in 2025:
SGA - 11th overall
Jokic - 2nd rounder
Giannis - 15th overall
Tatum - 3rd overall
Mitchell - 13th overall
And as others have pointed out, this is a deep draft at the top.
If I knew who the next big NBA star was going to be, I would make a lot more money. My point was simply that you cannot put all your eggs in one (1st overall pick) basket. There are multiple ways to build a franchise in the modern NBA.So you’re saying they potentially have to get lucky like those teams did and find a star others pass on.
I don’t suppose you know who those stars will be?![]()

At 14% odds, the Wizards could go a long time without a first overall pick. Their approach cannot be to simply wait until they get lucky enough to get the first overall pick in a good year and not in a Fultz/Wiggins year. They have to be successful with other high draft picks.
Bailey has ridiculous upside with the athleticism and size/length could exceed Flagg, imho. I watched Harper and Bailey the most out of all of the prospects. I do feel that Flagg has the highest floor which I believe I've mentioned before. And my point is, getting lucky by having an unknown superstar slide to you, is a much less certain path.
We need a Flagg type to turn this thing around, or as you point out we have to get very very lucky later in the draft.
Why would you say they cannot wait to get the number 1? Of course they wouldn’t wait, they would roll the dice and pray….basically what we’ve seen for the last 30 years lol…
